Sacrament or The Crucified?
But which do you prefer?
Going with Sacrament here. Haunts of Violence is a top 10 Christian thrash album for me.
(I bet I know who ToB is gonna vote for…)

They both made excellent sophomore releases. I love both efforts.
Haunts Of Violence (just barely) beats The Pillars Of Humanity.
So I'm going with Sacrament.

Sacrament is ok but I do have an issue with the vocals, they seem to be all over the place from shouting to screaming to those strange lengthened death growls sometimes at the end of a bar.

I love The Crucified.
It’s very tough to choose these bands against each other.
I choose The Crucified.
BR mentioned Pillars was fire. I agree.

But the Crucified was my favorite band for many years (and also my introduction to real Christian heavy music).
My vote goes to The Crucified!

I was a mega fan! I still love those albums. Crossover thrash was my thing. Stuff like Suicidal Tendencies and Sacred Reich.

I mostly agree now… but it used to be the opposite. Especially for Sacrament.
In all honesty, it’s always been almost a tie for the Cru albums. I think I favored Pillars for a while though.
On the s/t album I love the vocals and faster speed. On Pillars I love the heaviness and improved production. They’re a perfect combo! Kinda like Pantera’s CFH and Vulgar Display. I like that they are together on a single disc for “the collection” boxset.

I’m not surprised…
Your vocal style is the complete opposite of hardcore/punk vocals.
I can appreciate both, but sometimes actual singing doesn’t fit the context of the music. Sometimes screaming and shouting is needed. Sacrament didn’t use traditional singing either. They were similar to Slayer. The Crucified’s vocals were more like DRI and Minor Threat.

If you have to play something like Holy Wars you won't be jumping off the drum riser and waving flags around.

My beef isn't really with the vocals like you assumed, though they're not special to me.
I do like DRI's music.

That depends…
If it’s a band with a guitarist that also sings, I can see how they would be anchored more and concentrate on the playing. But if it’s a band like Overkill or Pantera with the vocalist separate from the guitars, the music can be intense and permit some stage movement.
Besides, Holy Wars is just one song… Megadeth have a lot of slower stuff too (and Dave Mustaine and whoever the current lead player is) still do the same thing. I know Mustaine is older now and has had surgeries, but Megadeth has been statuesque for many years. His Rattlehead days were pretty much over after Rust in Peace came out. There is nothing wrong with standing still, some bands need to concentrate. My point was that The Crucified were a fun band to watch on stage back in the day.
