This is a fantastic concept album….it’s a long one at almost 2 hours long…I’ve listened to it in sections….but man it keeps my attention. It’s very well done!oldschooldoom wrote:Afterwinter - Paramnesia

Haha…good analogy!Pethead wrote:I’ve gotta try it, but prog is an odd genre for me. It’s like chocolate truffles—delicious in small doses, nauseating in large doses.

When this album came out shortly after Michael's passing I assumed it would be like the latest Bloodgood album. Les definitely puts his own signature on these songs. He is quite versatile from very heavy songs to some melodic rock songs. All are good sing along songs. Sad that Oz Fox was not at Immortal Fest for the song 'Judas is Dead'. Sad that David Zaffiro was not on stage for the songs 'River' and 'He's Coming'. Joyce and Les really rehearsed their on stage choreography.

I wish I could’ve been at Immortal Fest to see Les Carlsen and the other bands…sounds like it was a good time!oldschooldoom wrote:Les Carlsen - He's Coming

Np: Phil Keaggy - The Song Within
Good background music while getting my day going.

Phil Keaggy's name was mentioned there. He lives not far from the venue, it would be so great for the metal heads to experience his greatness. I saw/met him around 1992.

Whenever I listen to this I can't help but think of the voices of Les Carlsen at times and David Coverdale at other times. But the new Whitecross singer sounds like neither when on stage. He has his own sound but I do hear a tinge of Stephen Pearcy and Scott Wenzel.

This sounds great! Too bad they cancelled at Immortal Fest. They would have blended in nicely.

That’s very cool…I saw Keaggy play at Calvary Baptist Church in NYC probably around the same time as you in the early 90’s although it might have been as early as '89(I can’t remember lol). I just remember being Mesmerized at watching him play guitar live … I was right smack in front of him. He was a little guy but played and spoke larger than life.oldschooldoom wrote:A good time was had by allAmmocas wrote:I wish I could’ve been at Immortal Fest to see Les Carlsen and the other bands…sounds like it was a good time!oldschooldoom wrote:Les Carlsen - He's Coming

I've only seen Phil Keaggy once - in 2003 at a small venue in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I couldn't say it better than you: "I just remember being Mesmerized at watching him play guitar live … I was right smack in front of him. He was a little guy but played and spoke larger than life."

Ice Cream Sundae was one of the last songs they did that July night. LOL, I can see the back of my fat head. That put on a very good show. As a casual fan, I didn't realize that was Paul Q Pek on guitar. I only knew him from his solo material.Sevenoneself wrote:The world is like an icecream sundae

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now [Christian]?
This is my new go-to heavy metal worship album! I was blaring this in the church sanctuary this morning while I set up the music, sound and video. Always brings my heart back to Jesus.
"There’s only one salvation
Jesus is the way to Heaven for us"
"If we seek His face, Humbling ourselves
If we pray Let His will be done...Out of repentance comes healing and peace. Turn around and He’ll hear us from Heaven"
"You forgive us even though we don’t deserve it
Your death, not in vain...
I asked to be remembered
By this man, crowned with thorns"
