What Are You Listening To Right Now [Christian]?
The old thread has been used for both Christian and secular but I think it'd be nice to separate into two threads. So from now on, let's use this thread for specifically Christian metal and rock.

Been discovering some older, softer Christian music of late, Michael Card and Rich Mullins. I don't like modern worship music at all but looking for some Biblical music with a different sound, these artists have been nice (along with Keith Green & Andrew Peterson).

We listen to Rich Mullins and Andrew Peterson, my wife likes them and I appreciate their lyrics.

Saint - Too late for living. Before that: One Bad Pig: Smash the guitar.
And while writing this, the LP finishes.
So what to put on next:... yes... No Longer Music Band: Thank you, good night, we love you .

Everything In Slow Motion - Laid Low
It's not the type of music that gets much attention on this forum, but it's really good.
Kerrick, thanks for splitting this thread. I'm one who will benefit from it (maybe not my bank account).

^You are very welcome! Yeah I think having separate threads will make discovering new music much easier. RIP both of our bank accounts.

Honestly I never opened the other because I have no interest in secular music anymore. This will be more interesting for me.

Vengeance Rising - Human Sacrifice (First Mix) Just incredible how much better this version is.
Side question Kerrick, what about bands that dont "identify" as a Christian band but have strong Christian Themes like say Holy Tide they dont come out as a Christian band but the themes are overwhelming.. just want to make sure I put things in the right place.

Sawol - The Furnace Is Burning Hot
Good question but I don't have a good answer! I think just do the best you can but not worry too much about it. (I'd put Holy Tide in this thread.) Everyone's got a different way of defining just what a "Christian band" is - even the bands themselves.

^That's one of those I've always meant to check out more but never did. You know if it's still readily available? I remember it being quite cheap (long ago...).

Teramaze - The Unseen (Tears to Dust)
This album is a masterpiece, a complete working of metal w/ all tempos and styles represented aside from extreme metal and keys-added metal. So many different vocal variations and interesting arrangements. Tony Palo is all over the place with the drums, it's just constant fills and various beats, tempos, etc. He must be a Ted Kirkpatrick fan and if you read the band's bio, they became Christians after listening to Tourniquet.

Neal Morse - Testimony 2
I really wish that Neal will be doing some solo prog work again.

Technically his double album "Jesus Christ: The Exorcist" was a solo album. I know it was an ensemble "musical" but, with both that and the Great Adventure album coming out in the same year, I consider it a solo release.
I understand what you mean though.

Well apparently he IS working on a solo prog album again! At least if I understand his facebook posts right. He mentioned something about a new album a few times now, and clearly not in the Transatlantic context (which is also in the works BTW) because he'd send some stuff to Randy George and Mike Portnoy. Also comparing the material to Questionmark and Sola Scriptura. And it is to be a concept album.Frozen Fire wrote:Andreas89 wrote:Neal Morse - Testimony 2

Sorry for being off topic, I'm just a bit too excited about this

My favorite Neal solo album is Question Mark. Sola is second. That's encouraging!
Now playing: Tourniquet "Gazing At Medusa" - my favorite album since Pathogenic. Honestly the only one I really care to listen to over that span.
