Yes, it’s the true best Theocracy song after LTDTR. Actually, there is not a bad song on Mirror Of Souls. It could very well be argued to be a perfectly written album.CrimsonWarrior wrote:The true best Theocracy song.scottmitchell74 wrote:Absolution Day

Alright, it’s time for my controversial Theocracy opinion. Although the lyrics are great, I never could really get into the music for Absolution Day. Hard to explain why, maybe because to me it sounds almost like the music was written as an afterthought to fit the lyrics. I don’t dislike the song, just find the music weaker than the rest of the album (except maybe Writing in the Sand)

It's maybe my favourite song on the album. It was my teenage daughter's favourite Theocracy song for awhile. Now it's Return to Dust.

This thread spurred me to listen to this album, as it's been a while.
Yes, this album is utterly perfect. It's a tue 10/10. It's in The Pantheon.

I absolutely love it and although I also think it's hard to explain: the chorus reminds me of a 50's bubble-gum pop song set to metal. ? "shrug"

So, Seth.... how you might be feeling right now how people can like Absolution Day at all...
That's probably a bit how I feel about anyone who could enjoy Mirror of Souls. It plain doesn't make sense to me how anyone would think it's a good song. But many people do. It must be something in the water, or the wine, or the beer, or whatever flavor of chips you have down in the States that we don't have in Canada.

No I understand why people would like Absolution Day. Like I said I don’t hate it, and it certainly has great lyrics, but I just can’t get into the music as much as most of the rest of the album. But I will die on the hill that Mirror of Souls is Theocracy’s magnum opus and greatest masterpiece

I’ve never liked Absolution Day. The lyrics are solid; I just don’t like the style.
