The Immortal Festival - Ohio

Holy crap on the lineup, wish I lived closer!

Dang! It needs to come near me!

I hope it does well so maybe there'll be more like this.

The lineup of this festival reads like a bucket list for me. There are many bands I haven’t been able to see. So now being in my 50’s and the bands getting older; who knows if we will get many more chances to see them play live. Anyway, it’s like a 9-10 hour drive. I’m definitely considering planning for this one.

I feel like we got cheated in the NY/NJ/CT area all these years, because the classic Christian metal bands rarely if ever came through here.  Yes we have had Styper and we had Novella (from NJ), and Whitecross came here at least once in 1988.  
But Barren Cross, Bloodgood, Holy Soldier, Guardian, Recon, Messiah Prophet, Mortification, Fear Not, Bride, Daniel Band, etc. - not to mention the European bands - it just never happened to my knowledge.  They stayed on the West Coast or the Midwest

Wow - this is an hour from where we live now in Central Ohio. Would love to see many of these bands, and I haven’t seen Pastor Bob since we played Cornerstone.  
I’m going.

A friend of mine has been allowed to sit in some of the Sacred Warrior rehearsals.
They've been playing their older material, like from "Rebellion" and "Wicked Generation"...

My friend Rob is at the Immortal Festival in Ohio.  It started yesterday and goes through tomorrow.  There's 11 classic Christian metal / rock bands, also a sermon from Get A Life Ministries’ Billy Crone. The emcee is Chris Jericho.

Yesterday he saw Saint, Sacred Warrior, and Human Code and said they were all amazing.. Today it's Barren Cross, Chaotic Resemblance, Whitecross, and Deny The Fallen.

It is killing me that I’m missing this festival. It’s close enough to drive, but we’re on vacation. Had I known about it in the spring, we’d have vacated another week!

If I lived where most of my relatives are from in the Canton Ohio area, I would definitely make the drive. But I’m from Southern California.

My wife is gone for the weekend in NY and I've got the four kids otherwise this is a couple hour drive. I'd be there for sure! Should have had TZ75's relatives watch the kids since I'm from the Canton area. Lol

Some are in Canton and others are in a small town called Minerva. Most people have never heard of Minerva, so I just say “the Canton area”.

We've got friends from Minerva and several people I've taught with are administrators there in the local schools. We go down there every so often to eat at a real nice restaurant. I'm in Hartville which is north of Canton, about 10 minutes. Our church is halfway between here and Minerva, you'd just keep going past our church to get there. Small world.

I’ve been to the Hartville restaurant several times over the years (not sure if it’s Amish or Mennonite?)

We always go there when we visit. As a matter of fact, we had our 2018 family reunion there! We also like a place called Der Dutchman.

Do you know Scott Mitchell? He’s another member here. He’s from Minerva. He was a neighbor of my great uncle. He lived on the other side of the woods. Very small world indeed!
