New music from Immortal Souls. Cold Sounds will be released 29.2.2024. New digital EP available online in most streaming platforms.

Definitely gonna check this out. One of the only melodeath bands I enjoy.

They are a good band, although I don't see much content in their lyrics about faith or Biblical Christianity.  Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

I don’t either, although I admittedly haven’t done a deep dive.

I just took a quick look at the lyrics to the last album and didn't find much, but a quick look at earlier albums found more.
Still haven't done a deep dive, but there is enough to make me think there is something there, but often the lyrics seem a bit cryptic too.

Great band! I'm excited for any new material. I thought they improved with each new album, from a poor Children of Bodom/Kalmah clone to something more formidable. I never thought they broke the mold or rose to those heights but they just kept getting better.

On the lyrics, I'd read a number of interviews from the band years ago and they had definitely held their faith but stated they went with a more allegorical approach. I guess I read into the lyrics with that in mind. 

On Wintermetal songs like Trail in the Snow, Northern Star, and Solitude have been encouraging to me. Humor me as I say what they mean to me. Trail in the Snow is the narrow path, the Lord giving life to our weariness as we walk in his footsteps. Northern Star, Christ is the steady, unmoving light that we look to beyond our world that provides direction, hope, and works as a consistent guide for our lives. Solitude is a meditative time of prayer, alone with the Lord away from all distractions.
