Will there be a new Tourniquet album?

Absolutely zero relevant updates on this project. Don't come with the old bs that quality takes time.

Well, the last update that I have knowledge is from March, 24...

"From the studio: The new album is likely looking to be 10 songs. I realize many want to know what the music is like. Is it heavy? Is it progressive? Can you compare it to any previous album? Yes, yes, and no. I have no desire to try and recreate the past. For Tourniquet, it's about moving forward - not backward for the sake of nostalgia. The material is heavy, it's progressive - and the main reason it's taking longer than expected to finish: it's complex.

The songs are full of allegorical themes not explored before. No watered down messages. No shying away from God and the things in life that matter.

^^ I don't think crowdfunding is for you.

^ By "relevant updates" I believe he means how is the project progressing, ie.: bass player in the studio, vocals recorded, album artwork complete. The updates so far habe been pretty bland.

Ted is at a point in his music career that he can make his albums very leisurely. Maybe he has “writer’s block”… who knows?

We may actually see another Flood album before the new Tourniquet arrives.

I guess Ted is actually earning some money from TQT but definitely not enough to give it any higher priority than his job or family. So it's a bit unrealistic to expect the whole thing to be done on time, quickly and with constant updates.
Not sure whom to blame for this wrong expectations cause I'm not really informed about this album project, schedules and communication. Maybe artists and fans should learn to be more relaxed about things like that and communicate more clearly that it's only a HOBBY and not a business so it's impossible to give any guarantee that plans for a release like that would change - especially in regards of deadlines etc.

It's not a BUSINESS for anyone in the Christian metal scene except Stryper.  I think that should be clear by now.  Businesses earn a profit.

You're doing well to break even.

This is, what, the 15th Tourniquet album?  How many albums does one NEED from any given band?  I can understand the anticipation but not DEMANDING that Ted give you want you want.

Technically… if you sell a product or merch, it’s a business. 

Even if it’s a “side business”. You can have a lemonade stand and it’s a business. Ted obviously has other forms of income. But Tourniquet is a genuine business.

And BTW… I believe Skillet is making a living as a Christian rock band. And as far as Stryper goes… I think Michael Sweet gets the lion’s share of the profits. He writes almost everything. The others are most likely paid salaries for their live performances (and split up the merch sales).
