New Skid Row Singer

It appears that Skid Row has a new vocalist.  They have hired Erik Gronwallfrom the band H.E.A.T. and he definitely sounds a bit like a younger Sebastian Bach.  They have a new song out with him on vocals and are working on new music with Erik.

While I am not sold on this new song, I do think the new singer could be good for them as he can nail Bas's vocals on older songs.



If you want to see how he would handle classic Skid Row songs, here is Erik doing an in-studio cover of "18 & Life" and sounding amazing!

He will be great for the older songs but they can't seem to write like back in the day which hurts them.

Exactly.  For some reason it doesn't seem to matter who is singing for the band in the last 20 year... their song-writing just doesn't seem up to those first two releases with Bach.  Heck even their 3rd release with him wasn't near the caliber of the first two (IMO).  I applaud them for making new music, but it isn't the singers that are holding them back.

There's some magic that just can't be recaptured.  Though Erik's got a great Skid Row voice!

Much better then The Gang's All Here and has a nice hook. Now I'm curious what the rest will sound like.

I agree, the new single is good.  I like it better than the previous one.
For me I think I would need to listen to the entire album on Spotify before deciding if I wanted to purchase it or not.  Either way I hope the band is successful with the new album.

34 year old Erik Grönwall has been with them since March
but knows the songs since he auditioned for Swedish Idol in 2009 and sang "18 and Life"

He brings so much energy to the aging band!!

At the show they announced they will be coming out with a new album in Oct

I LOVED the H.E.A.T II album and his voice is a big reason why. I think Skid Row found the perfect fit for their sound.

Bas had destroyed his voice. Too much hard living.
