Atmospheric Unblack Metal bands that sound like.... ?
Looking for unblack bands similar to Mare Cognitum (check out song below).
That cold, dark, otherworldly and enveloping kind of sound that transports you and is speedy and intense but also kind of serene.
I'm not coming up with much and am drawing a blank.
Here is what I have so far that is at least somewhat close:
Armath Sargon - Northern Chroncicles of Worship
Vials Of Wrath - Days Without Names, Seeking Refuge
Epta Astera - Semper Reformanda
Daygraves - The Final Empire, Silver
Within Thy Wounds - Forest Of Iniquity, Demo
....I'm sure I'm missing some obvious ones, any ideas?

Wow that sounds good. The best I can come up with is this.
Erasmus - slower and doomier on most of their tracks, but solid and atmospheric.
Dormant - rawer and probably also slower, but I think there's some comparison to be made. See 4:50 for my favorite part of the album.
Parakletos - more on the symphonic side.
Sanctifica - keyboard-laden black/death.
None of these exactly match that Mare Cognitum track, but they were the closest I could come up with immediately.

Thanks! I will check those first two out since I'm not familiar with them. I had gone through the material of Parakletos last night and I didn't think it fit closely enough. I will revisit Sanctifica, and I just remembered Lengsel, maybe they might come close.

I don't think there's much in the Christian scene comparable to that. The closest I can think of (other than some of the previously mentioned bands) are:
Scroll
https://scroll.bandcamp.com/
Departe (more "Christian(s) in a band but some of the lyrics are quite Christian)
https://departenoise.bandcamp.com/album/failure-subside
And maaaaaaaybe somewhat Lo-Ruhamah's second album:
https://lo-ruhamah.bandcamp.com/album/anointing
Hesychast, sorta
https://hesychast.bandcamp.com/album/ageless
Not a Christian band to my knowledge, but one of the guys from Hesychast is/was in Antlers As Roots which are probably the closest in style to what you're looking for:
https://antlersasroots.bandcamp.com/
I hope that helps!

You might also like Flaskavsae's final album. (Their older stuff is good too, though quite lo-fi.)
I'm not sure if this affects anything for you, though the guy from Flaskavsae did apostatize and left the faith after this was released.

Kerrick, thanks so much! I will definitely check all of these out. I didn't think there was much that was 100% comparable but I'm hoping there will be at some point....I know someone who might create some since he doesn't see much out there.

So far I have checked out all except Antlers As Roots- which I now see you said was the closest to them, lol. Guess that's next on my listen list!
Of the rest, the most impressive was Departe. They sort of have a distinct style, and they weave their musical ingredients together very nicely.
A few minutes ago I found out Mare Cognitum is coming out with a new album on March 19th and they have released a single for it. I listened to some of it. From that song he seems to be going in a more melodic direction with more traditional song structures. I'm not sure I like that but we'll see how the rest turns out.

Cool! I'm glad you dig Departe; they're very good indeed. The main guy has a handful of other projects ranging from grindcore to CCM. I'm yet to delve much into his other stuff, but you may be interested to check 'em out too.
Antlers As Roots only has two demo tapes released but they're both pretty good. Also, they've got really cool packaging if you're interested in that sorta thing. Enjoy!

Not a Christian band, but back when I was doing "safe secular" metal and had releases on No Sleep Till Megiddo, I was briefly label-mates with this project:
Sorrow Plagues
https://sorrowplagues.bandcamp.com/
That Mare Cognitum album, I've given many spins and I feel Sorrow Plagues is good comparison, albeit not an "unblack" project. I'd recommend giving that "Vista" track of theirs your debut listen.
Their newest split is completely sold out if that tells you anything. HAHA!

Thanks! Listening to Vista right now.
It's funny, this is basically '90s New Age music recreated as black metal. .
It's like ambient chill with blast beats and growls...
It's actually a clever idea and I wonder who thought of it first.
