Agent Steel - New E.P. (John Cyriis)

Speed metal band Agent Steel is back....back there seem to be 2 versions after a legal battle.

This version is the band of original singer John Cyriis.  No Juan Garcia, Bernie Versailles, or Chuck Profus.

The new material sounds like 1985 all over again.   One of these songs is even a remake of "The Unexpected" which is a tour staple from 1987, but never officially recorded.  

John's vocals are impossibly high but they seem to be straining, so sometimes it gets wearisome to listen to.  But good music.

They do however have another song scheduled for release called "No Godz (No Goddesses)" which is a very anti-God song, just to forewarn you.

Otherwise yes, he is still singing about aliens.....

This should be a pretty decent release. 

The post-Cyriis era was really good as well before they switched over to Masters Of Metal. 

Not sure what's happening with them now. Do you have any info on how Versailles is doing these days?

I actually cannot find much info on how he is doing.  

The FB page has not been updated in a long time and there is no current info out there.   

His fundraiser page shows very little support.  I wonder now what they are not telling us.

Is that first song done being mastered? It sounds terrible. I actually like the post Cyriis stuff better.

It's good stuff. My personal favorite Agent Steel is Omega Conspiracy.

Since I grew up with the early stuff, I never much cared for the material after John left.  
I prefer that old school speed metal sound.

I can handle John's vocals but it's not my favorite.

Longtime fan here, too.  The only album I didn't enjoy of theirs was Alienigma.  I'll need to hear a proper stream of the new album before I plunk down.  I saw a very positive review on a website, but the samples and full songs I've listened to so far sound like a hot mess to me.  Terrible mix; nonsensical lyrics with a crowbarred delivery.  Just my 2 cents. :/
