WEAPONS OF GOD release brand new single for 'Glory And The Power' off their critically aclaimed self titled album recently released via Roxx Records

I like this better than the other songs I had heard from them previously.

I agree. The other songs I heard were kind of rough sounding.

They should work with a better producer to help them make the arrangements a little more melodic.

This song could be much better is arranged a little differently.

Pretty good lyrics though

This was floating around in my YouTube feed.

Unfortunately, I’m not impressed. 

Firstly, the long cinematic speaking intro was too long…
I’m assuming they were going for the Deliverance Weapons of Our Warfare vibe. The production, vocals and music wasn’t spectacular either. With a band name like “Weapons of God” I’m expecting music that is powerful and masterfully played. 

Just my 2 cents… I gotta be honest like a Scott Waters review.

Are Scott Waters reviews like that?

I expected a generic power metal "project" like so many these days but it was thrashier than I expected.  I respect their spiritual boldness.

No. His reviews are much more in depth. I was referring to the “honesty” (instead of sugarcoating). I respect his reviews because he doesn’t go easy on a Christian band just because they are fellow Christians. If the music (or lyrics) are lacking, he talks about it. He treats all bands whether Christian or secular the same. 

Have you never read one of his reviews on No Life Til Metal? Hard to believe… I’m certain you know he’s the singer of Ultimatum and the founder of the aforementioned website (that you are also a member of). 

I read tons of his reviews, even before I was on any of these forums.  Back when he used to put down vinyl.

My recollection of his reviews was saying that almost every band was solid unless they didn't play true metal on that release.

Nope. 

He is very clear when he likes something, and if something doesn’t grab him.

But keep in mind that when I say he’s honest, that doesn’t mean he’s brutal (unless we’re talking about Stavesacre). He can’t stand them and isn’t afraid to let the world know.
