I watched the Australian giant crocodile flick Rogue yesterday and thought it was pretty good! For a somewhat campy horror flick, the characters were well done, it had decent suspense, and overall was very entertaining. I'd recommend if you're into that kind of movie.

The Paris Express, Claude Rains. 1952. A highly straightforward, simplistic plot, but Rains shines here.

Jumanji: The Next Level. Seeing Dwayne Johnson trying to sound like Danny DeVito (it makes sense plot-wise) was hilarious.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I don't watch many movies anymore, but my wife and I recently saw "Infinite Storm." We moved from New Hamphsire, but see the "Metalheads who Hike" thread for some indication of how much I loved hiking and the mountains there. The story, with which I was somewhat familiar before the film, centers around a hike on Mt Washington, although it isn't exactly a hiking movie per se. So I knew it wasn't filmed in NH (which would have been amazing for me!!!), but still kind of felt like I "had" to see it.
Oh my goodness was it painful. My wife and I both agreed completely, just miserable to sit through. Some of the scenery was interesting, and sort of both did and did not look like my beloved but now left behind NH mountains, and some of the scenes and scenarios were realistic, although some were not. But I do not recommend. At all. I guess there was some sort of larger picture with the whole thing, and it was about humanity and our lives more than hiking and mountains exactly, but I didn't enjoy it on any level.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Bubba Ho-Tep was a fun one! I really enjoy those campy horror-comedies. Oldschool, what'd you think of EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE? I saw the trailer some time ago and thought it looked like it could be very good.
My wife and I had the rare opportunity to watch a flick (over the span of two nights) after the kids went to bed and watched the sci-fi/suspense/horror flick Triangle from 2009. It's difficult to give a synopsis without giving too much away... but in short a group of friends get shipwrecked but their problems REALLY start once they board a mysterious ship passing by. It was fairly predictable in many ways, though there were a few surprises thrown in too. It was clear that a lot of thought went into it and it had good attention to detail.

ALL horror movies crack me up, the harder they try to scare, the more I laugh. Jump scares are annoying.
Dumb comedies make me angry. I only watched Bubba Ho-Tep because it was highly reco'd by a coworker. She described it hilariously but included an inkling of history. After watching, I realized the plausibility and that made me smile.
About EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. It was well done but just not the typical multi-verse I am used to. The last 5-10 minutes nicely gives a redemptive ending. Other than that I won't give away anything. Jamie Lee Curtis like we've never seen her

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers. Kind of a Roger Rabbit-type film, but a fun film nonetheless. Lots of cameos I never expected (Senator Butthead was a funny sight gag, but Mr. B. Natural? Probably the closest we'll get to Robert Crumb working with Disney).
