Sacrosanct (thrash metal from the Netherlands)

After literally 25 years, Sacrosanct have returned.  (I had never heard of them before, but saw this posted over on the Metal Archives.)  Here's a new song off of their upcoming album and it sounds really quite good.  Also, the lyrics are quite interesting.  They're somewhat ambiguous but seem to have a Christian leaning...

I thought the same thing!  I think they've gone Christian.

Frankly, a lot of this song sounds like Alter Bridge or Creed to me.

Their first and third albums are very good and I will buy their reissues.

I take it their older stuff is actually thrash?

Yes, especially their debut.  Sounds nothing like this.

Listened to some old stuff and you wouldn't know it's the same band musically. The new lyrics are good but I wish they'd kept the sound of the past.

I know it.  Even the previous album they did "Tragic Intense" was excellent, even if it wasn't thrashy.  It sounded like dark metal reminding me closest of something like Anacrusis or Nevermore's slower numbers.
