Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Speaking of MATW. Does anybody know if CD's of "Hope" are available anywhere? I didn't back the Kickstarter for it because I didn't think I'd like the synth style of the project, but I've been listening to it on Spotify, and man is it growing on me. I can buy the download off of Amazon, but I'd rather have a official disc.

I don't think they did CDs.

This is taking a long time. Backed this project too but still looking forward to it. Hopefully will be finished this year?

According to his last update, Randy still had a couple of songs to finish with guest musicians before mixing/mastering began. So, with the speed he seems to work these days, I am hopeful but not holding my breath. After three years, you kind of lose faith in a project every coming out. With this being the second project of his that has gone years over the expected release date, I probably won't back another one. While there are others, these campaigns that go this far over the projected release date make me not want to do any more crowd funding.

I went for this but just expect it will be done in the future. I'll be pleased if it comes out this year but there is usually an unexpected disaster or a rerecord on the horizon. Only Randy really knows what is going on.
My only actual hope is that it is good when it finally arrives. I backed the last one and had a really mixed reaction to the final product, though the songwriting was good. Hoping this is more my style.

I've heard demos of half the new songs and I think they're great! Really rockin' stuff.

There have already been several disasters. That is why we are three YEARS late for the original projected release date.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Indeed. I would say more than half the updates over those years have been about sickness, malfunctions with equipment, things being erased, etc. I'm glad to hear that half the tracks really are done because, I hate to say it, I began to doubt if anything really was being completed.alldatndensum wrote:Frozen Fire wrote:I went for this but just expect it will be done in the future. Yes, I've heard half of them and Randy says the music for the other half are done, he's just finishing vocals. And he's working on minor tweaks for the ones I've heard. We're working on album art too. He really has had an insanely difficult few years and still is, but he's pushing ahead despite it all. I know from a fan's perspective it's frustrating, but it's admirable that he's getting this album done despite it all. He feels terrible about the delays and he's doing everything possible to finish. And he's not even publicly sharing all the awful things that have happened! One thing is for sure: the pain and darkness in his music isn't fake. It's lived.

I appreciate the insight. I didn't doubt the personal struggles but it has certainly been hard to understand from the outside, other than seeing it as really unfortunate. I am grateful that all is coming to pass and that Randy has chosen to push through and be personal in the process.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Longest Kickstarter EVER.....or it at least seems like it! Latest update states 95% done, but still 2 more songs to go. ugh, that probably equates to another 6 months +

Finally listening to this!
I said way back when that I just hoped it was good when it finally arrived. Praise God Randy did it! It's got that big, warm, heavy groove just like I would have hoped. The production is monstrous! This such a welcome sound as the weather warms up. It's classic Rose and really, really well done.
I won't be doing a Kickstarter again from Randy but PLEASE somebody give him support to put out records on a label! I love this sound and its unique within the larger industry. I appreciate the perseverance it took to get this done. If I was giving up as a fan I can't imagine what Randy was thinking.

Yeah it's me again, the Gatekeeper of great music and taste here, so yeah Randy is worth it. Good artist and great voice. Mad At the world was a great group, be it Heavy rock, Synth pop electronic Goth or psychedelic and grunge. He'll produce something quality no doubt.
Now you have the Gatekeeper's approval go buy it.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
It was cool to finally get the MP3s of this project. It has been a long time coming and has become a great example of A) how not to run a Kickstarter campaign and B) why as a fan you shouldn't back these.
With that said, I will be glad to get to listen to this sometime this weekend.

Does he still imitate Danzig?

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I never really listened to Danzig. When Boomerang came out I thought it sounded like an english (accent wise) interpretation of GNR. But he does have a heavy Danzig influence on that one. It's kind of English GNR/danzig. Great album too.TZ75 wrote:Does he still imitate Danzig?

This song is a direct ripoff of Danzig’s “Her Black Wings”. But then again… Danzig stole the riff from Tony Iommi “Zero the Hero”.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Ah never heard this particular album before. Think the last thing I caught wind of was the Rose healing album. Sounds pretty similar to Boomerang, or anything he does vocally speaking. But now I understand the impersonation going on or similarities to Glenn Danzig.TZ75 wrote:Dustofyears wrote:I never really listened to Danzig. Mix Danzig with a pinch of Alice Cooper and add some Beatles, and that's where he's at these days.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
He went through a lot of bad stuff during this time. Everything from long illnesses to family drug problems (not his) to almost no income to the pandemic to his dad dying and much more. The length of the Kickstarter truly wasn't his fault in any way, shape, or form. He just got hit with everything that could derail a person. But he persevered and with the help of a new label BEHOLD! Industries, he was able to finish the album and will make good on all the pledges. He's also halfway done with his next album, which BEHOLD! will release. I just spoke with him today and he said after that he'll be on to making the next Mad at the World album, which will be along the lines of their heavy period.Frozen Fire wrote:Finally listening to this!
