new Randy Rose album kickstarter
The last one was good but hoping this one rocks more like the old stuff. Dirty.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Definitely supporting. Love the band. Love the last album. He said this one would be classic Rose and made a point of saying it wouldn't be like Songs for the Ritually Abused.
As for the campaign, I feel like he needs help with the pledge options. I'm usually willing to pay extra for a shirt, autograph, extended lyric book with song explanations, demos etc. Other people pay for handwritten lyrics, personalized thank yous, drum sticks and guitar picks, guitars, etc. He's going to need a ton of people going for CDs and vinyl. Everything else is a huge jump in price.

I agree with both of you. He should make the demo CD a bigger pledge level, not a stretch goal. I'm more interested in that than in the new album itself.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I just put my pledge in.
I agree that asking for a slightly larger pledge for the EP would be cool. I'd do that.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I'm really hoping this sees the light of day. The sample in that clip is so thick and heavy.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Randy has been plugging the daylights out of it. I hope it sees the light of day as well.
Of course, I know it costs a lot to make a record if you don't have your own studio. Randy has his own, so some fans may not be jumping in just because they don't understand why it will take $18,000.
Of course, the last album (despite being brilliant) may have turned off a few fans just because it was so different. It was a blend of Randy's Rose sound and his other project Mothership which was very piano/keyboard driven. Some of the fans of the first couple of records may not want to invest in this until they hear a finished project.
Lastly, there are SO many bands asking for money these days that a lot of fans won't do pledge drives or have stopped. I only help with projects I really want to see happen. Most have been good experiences. Some were not. Rose's last album did happen, but it took months after the pledged delivery date. That also will hurt this pledge drive.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
It seems like very few Kickstarter album projects are delivered on time these days, especially if they are pressing the album on vinyl. To be honest, I'd be more shocked if an album came out when promised.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I pledged for the album but I still think this is suffering from a lack of mid-range pledge options.
Buying the album, with shipping is $20. You'd need 900 supporters for that. Vinyl is $33 shipped. That's just under 550 supporters. He needs more $40-60 options. Put a shirt on there. Sign the albums. Add demos of the songs. You need more midrange support. A lot of people buy in at that range.
Tourniquet, a band with a larger and still more current fanbase, asked for $16,000. Ted got less than 500 backers but got $20,000. Over 110 people pledged between $40-55. He got over $6,000 from that one group. You can't succeed without that group. Few people go for the +100 stuff.
Right now Randy has just 3 backers over $50.

Send Randy a note on Facebook. The campaign has 16 or so days to go, so he's got time to add options.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
He added a $65 option with the demo CD, vinyl and standard CD all together. Better!
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I almost want to do the higher tier, but I seriously don't want the vinyl record option as I don't own a turntable. I have no interest in vinyl records. If he would put in a $40 option for the regular and demo CDs plus downloads, I would do that for sure!

Same.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Be sure and message him and tell him what you would want. I told him about doing a tier to guarantee the demo CD and it happened. If enough of us told him about the need for a vinyl-less bundle with the demo CD guarantee, he'd put it in.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Yeah he's desperate to make this happen so he'll probably add whatever tier you want.

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
If the album is as heavy as the one sample he has posted, I am desperate for him to make this happen!!!

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Randy just posted 2 hours ago that the new album - titled The Masked Monster - is now 100% funded.
Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
Dang someone jumped in at the last moment there and pledged $9000!

Re: new Randy Rose album kickstarter
I am glad to see this got funded. With the clip he released of one song on the record, this is gonna be doomy!
I have been talking to Mike Link (bass for Rose and MATW) about the "Crazy Little World" album. Mike said that they recorded that album in the typical Rose style but changed it due to a lot of stuff that they all had going on in their lives at the time. The original recordings were used to build the poppy sound we all heard and didn't care for. I asked if those original tracks were still around. Mike seemed to think so and also said that those tracks sounded huge. We all need to tell Randy that we want to hear "Crazy Little World" as a full on rock onslaught.

I can't imagine those songs rocking no matter how well they're re-recorded. It would be a supernatural miracle.

And yet God parted the Red Sea and raised Jesus to life! Oh, ye of little faith!
