Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
Sounds like it could have come off of one of the first few albums.
Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
I think I will get this song and add it to the Witchburner EP download he already has out.

Oh man, that is so good. A million miles better than Songs for the Ritually Abused which sounded little like him. Where can you download/buy that and also the Witchburner EP?

You can get it on his bandcamp page. The song is the "b-side" to the Witchburner single.

I loved Songs For The Ritually Abused! It sounded like Randy with a lot of other influences, too.

It was a good album. Just too mellow and clean IMO, compared to his really awesome early work (Sacrificium, Healing).

Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
Those were good albums but he was clearly copying Danzig. At least with the new album, he did his own thing.
Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
I'm a huge Danzig fan and you're right in the vocals, but I actually think musically he was a lot more interesting and different. Overall I think he was better. I do love the style of Witchburner, though, which sees him doing his own unique vocal sound that doesn't mimic Danzig but is still rough and raspy (unlike the Songs album).

Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
I've loved just about everything that Randy has done, with the exception of "Crazy Little World". Last year I decided to go back and took a fresh listen, and still couldn't get into it. I LOVE SFTRA. Sure I'd love something more along the lines of Sacrificium and Healing and this track fits right in there. Lately I find nothing of interest in the Christian metal scene, it's just all stale to me. SFTRA at least had a unique sound to it, and for an independent release was vastly superior in sound. The only negative I found, was trying to sing along to songs that are dark in their subject matter.
Re: Randy Rose - God of the Left Hand Single
Yeah it was a good album. I think for me it was sunk because I had been listening to the old stuff in anticipation, and the Witchburner teaser track a year or two before SFTRA, and it was nothing like that. Expectations kill otherwise worthy efforts for me.
I also tend to get annoyed by bands that change their sound dramatically over time, much less for a reunion-type album. I tend to think such efforts should always be released under a different name, as people don't buy music primarily out of loyalty to the person/people behind it; we buy music because we like a specific sound.

I still hold the album Into The Unknown as the masterpiece. But I really like the SFTRA album a lot. Different but likeable.

Into The Unknown is a masterpiece. Musically it is better than Healing, but the lyrics for Healing drew me in. That is still my favorite to this day.
