Re: Thrash Metal
You know? You got to rejoice in God's goodness to you that you no longer live under such deception. I can't listen to any of these bands for more than a few minutes once in a while like now when we are reminiscing about them. Such powerful music. Such a pity that it's all dedicated to evil.sentient 6 wrote:d@v!d wrote:
I used to have the Beyond the Gates album. The front slip opened in half like gates revealing a hell landscape. Creepy.
Ya know what else is creepy ? I used to go to sleep listening to tha Seven Churches album.

Yes and no. They consider themselves a mix of thrash and hardcore.metaldude wrote:Hey, D@v!d. Can we call Caracao de Heroi a thrash band? If so, they're definitely on my list.

Did they ever play outside Cali? No, but I've heard some of their music a while back.
Re: Thrash Metal
I don't know if they did. They were like a staple opener for just about every act in the Bay Area. What's interesting is that they got labeled 'Christian', although you would never guess it watching them live. did you watch the video? Pretty funny dialog, no?Temple of Blood wrote:d@v!d wrote:Anyone here ever catch the 'mighty' Stone Vengeance?

Amen. Paise God and His glorious grace shown to me.
Yeah, I find that sometimes i'll throw something on to stroll down memory lane. But after a few minutes I've had my fill. And then, I'm thankful that those messages no longer appeal to me. Not that they ever " appealed " to me though. I knew that stuff was promoting evil, but I was happy just to compromise for the sake of the music.

Re: Thrash Metal
Those early German thrash bands Kreator, Sodom and Destruction have a great sound.
From the UK, Sabbat's first album History of a Time to Come has a really unique sound.

Being from Australia it would be unforgivable of me not to mention Mortal Sin.

I haven't listened to that album in years...many years. It might be time to blow the dust of of that one. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Thrash Metal
I love thrash. Best show of last year was Slayer with Anthrax. Probably the best metal song I've seen played live was Battery, opening Metallica's set at Download 2004. Lars was ill, Dave Lombardo filled in for the first couple of songs. Lars' drum tech did a couple of songs, then Joey Jordison finished the set.
