Tonka (thrash metal)

While looking into Omegashift (for which I created a thread here), I stumbled upon Tonka which shares a couple members.  I think folks here may find much to like.  In this interview, they mention that the band includes some Christian members which shines through in the lyrics.  I haven't scrutinized the lyrics, but it'd appear that this may be in the "Christian-friendly" category.

I wonder if they are named after Tonka Toys?   

Yeah, needed a hard hitting name, short and memorable . Growing up in the 70s .

Nice find, I noticed they are on Spotify and both albums are are Amazon for digital purchase, yeah more to the wishlist.....
The lryics I found on Metal-archives seem to be very Christian leaning and friendly

I recently got these albums and have been greatly enjoying them.  Their first album ...This Present Darkness... is solid thrash but their second album Beast of Soil and Burden I find especially captivating.  It's more proggy and diverse - sometimes edging towards epic doom in parts, and more emotive.  Highly recommended!

Will definitely be investigating these guys.

It looks to me that some of their lyrics are Christian, so I'd say they're more than "Christian-friendly".  Some of their lyricists are Christian.
