It's probably worth mentioning that I fall asleep with Hulu, wake up and it's still going. A few hours later that prompt shows up. So like, 10 hours later?

If they're wanting to save bandwidth, they should do like Netflix does. After 3 episodes play, dump the viewer into the next episode menu. No goofy question that can only be answered if I'm still watching.

Yeah, I think that netflix has the optimum solution for that problem.

I need to find a better way of finishing guitar necks.  I use teak oil but it will not dry in Tennessee heat and humidity

Why not just use gun stock oil or something like that?

Because I don't have any?  LOL

I've never used it on wood, so I am not sure what it would do.  Any oil based wood sealant, though, is probably going to have similar issues once the first couple of coats are on.  After that, the oil builds up and dries on top of the surface of the wood to make it shine.  I want the necks I have made to shine so much that they forever look wet but are completely dry and not tacky.

I found a solution to my teak oil problem.  I used lacquer thinner to start with.  That actually made it even MORE sticky feeling.  It was so bad that I gripped the neck of this cigar box guitar really hard and then attempted to let go.  It was still stuck to my hand!

I then used mineral spirits.  That just took us back to the level of stickiness prior to the lacquer thinner.  So, I got out a bottle of trusty ol' Goo Gone.  Its just citrus oils with old fashioned turpentine.  Bingo!  We have a winner!

Now, I can do my sound check tomorrow and actually deliver this guitar to the owner!  Then, I have to finish my banjo I have started.

The newest guitar!  It is a three string acoustic/electric with a rod piezo pickup under the banjo style bridge.  The jack is actually a battery powered preamp to give it some bite and to help prevent feedback.

Woke up, went to the park, my wife and I did a mile on foot. ...then I went home and sat at my drumset, first time since surgery.

Not bad, considering I haven't been out of the hospital a week since this last (3rd) surgery. Need to work some on strength/accuracy, a lot on endurance.



Considering this is what I can do now though, there's no reason for me to not play drums every day and get back where I was, then get back to recording...

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask you what's going on there. I hear the president there talk about being at war with radical Islam, something the US president won't ever say despite how many attacks we have on our soil. Then I hear that the communists are rioting there too. What's going on there?

I totally thought that when I sat down and started kicking, I'd be done in a few seconds. ...but I didn't feel too bad at! I'm getting a little more mobile each day. I still have to take it easy though and I've found out the hard way that I'm tethered to my pain meds.

Piles of prayers have obviously helped in regards to my recovery. I'm ready to get back to living!

Pawnee Prairie Days. Once a year, my little village has a carnival of sorts, where I can walk 2 blocks, get a ribeye sandwich and a shakeup, and play a game to win an prize for my wife.
