What’s a genre that IS popular here that you don’t like at all? Empty What’s a genre that IS popular here that you don’t like at all?

Inspired by the “core” thread. Most of us can agree on disliking -core, but what’s a genre that’s popular on this site that you just don’t get? My main one would be traditional (old-school) death metal, or any form of death metal other than a select few melodeath bands. I’ve tried to give it a chance several times, but it’s just not my thing I guess. Another would be grunge, certainly not as popular as death metal here but it seems many don’t share my extreme distaste for it

The Dale Thompson-genre.  I have never liked his voice.  Makes it easy on the bank account too.

Not so much a genre, but I just don't get the obsession with the same half dozen or so bands.  
Day after day, it's new threads about the same bands, most of whom I don't really care for.

I enjoy OSDM but agree with grunge. Only band I liked was Alice in Chains and they seemed less grungy than the others.

Genre?  Most thrash and everything more extreme than that.  If it has "core" in the name, I am out.  If the vocals sound like Cookie Monster gargling razor blades, I am out.  If the vocals sound like a wounded pig screaming for help, I am also out.

I don't care the more extreme styles of metal at all.

AiC were the only brilliant grunge band IMHO.

I guess I can understand why a metalhead would like AiC more than other grunge bands, but I still don’t care for them. There’s a distinctive “grunge voice” quality to the vocals of most grunge bands, including AiC, that I really don’t like. Besides, and probably the main reason I don’t like grunge, is that it has an angsty, miserable sounding vibe overall. Which is probably intentional, given the frequent themes of grunge lyrics. Not my thing though.

There seems to be a sizable amount of “Black-Metal” fans. Overall, I do not like that genre. Unless AHTDU counts…

When I first told my mom about black metal she initially assumed it was metal made in African cultures and was surprised that is was the most satanic type lol

AiC were the only brilliant grunge band IMHO.
Soundgarden? I guess they are more Alt. but they're amazing.

Black Metal. It's terrible. The vocals are worse than whiny emo BMTH style vocals, and the instruments can be easily replicated by flushing a toilet.

You still might not like the vocals, but your comment about the instrumentals tells me you’ve been listening to the wrong black metal. I don’t like the “raw,” noisy, horrible production type of black metal either, but it’s not all like that, some actually has beautiful instrumentals. Some examples of this type of BM:
