I still love the first 3 albums. I just wish they’d come right out and say where they are now with respect to their worldview(s) rather than what seems to be rewriting their history with respect to the boldly Christian lyrics—lyrics that were more thoughtful than a lot of other Christian metal bands. It’s not as if I’ll throw out the first 3 regardless—I’m spinning Extraction as I write this—and I’ll be willing to give new stuff a chance even if it’s not from the same worldview. I’m just not a fan of what seems to be historical revision. (Obviously, I can’t judge their intent).

I love the Extraction album!

Obscure was good, but they lost me on Dimensions.

I loved the first 2 albums.

Dimensions was great but it didn't get near as many spins as the first 2.

I always loved their guitar tones back then as well. Super-crunchy!

I've heard the newer stuff, but can't really get into it like I did their early work. They lost that signature guitar sound too! Mad 1

It kinda explains a bit why they nowadays make more ambiguous lyrics and don't talk about religion much at all. Even back in 1993, while they still were open about their faith, they felt it's not their job to preach on stage and they were heavily criticized for stopping the on-stage preaching, which ironically helped them to connect with non-religious people instead of only connecting with other Christians.

I’d love to hear the remastered sound of Sanity Obscure, but I have no need for more CDs. I really wish they offered these digitally.

Just ordered the new reissues of Extraction and Sanity. I believe they will sound great just like the last run of reissues Ted/Tourniquet put out for the “Metal Icon” series.
