Who can explain these Balance of Power and Giant album covers?

I noticed this years ago, when I held these two albums in my hands. I never asked about this here, but I guess now is the right time.. Smile

So who knows why these two album covers from these two different bands have almost exactly the same cover?

As you can see, basically the only difference here is the statue on the Giant cover.
If you remove the statue, then what´s left is the BoB cover (with their logo made out of the letter C).
The clouds, the sun, the pillars, colors, everything matches.

Probably it´s a joke between these two bands, but does anyone know more details about this? What´s the connection between the two bands? It´s pretty funny and interesting.
Ten more tales... was released 1999 and III in 2001.

My guess is that they both bought the rights to the same painting by the same artist. I doubt it's a joke of any kind.

Same thing happened to Morbid Angel and Hexenhaus.

I will say that BoP is a great band, and that Giant III is not given the attention it deserves, in my opinion.

The difference between BoP/Giant case vs all the others that have been posted here is that on BoP/Giant the picture is the same. In all the other examples the covers just look similar not being the same picture.

I wonder if there are other examples like BoP/Giant where the cover picture/design is the same.

I'm pretty certain that Ultimatum and Motley Crue albums are the exact same picture...they've just photo-shopped one a bit. geek

Took me awhile to find this one (had to do a reverse image search) but I remember seeing both of these cds several months apart in the same used music store.

Released 3-4 months apart. Same studio for both pictures, both bands are friends, both are comebacks after 16yrs away. Not really a coincidence between the two.

I knew that Antestor's Omen album used the same image as some other albums, but I saw this today showing a lot more than I knew about - 13 albums used the same image before Antestor did!
