I haven't seen the video but have heard the song. It's very melodic.

This new song is meh for me. It sounds like melodic hard rock ready for radio play in 2002.

I'm sure there will be plenty of harder/heavier moments on the record, but this is pretty typical of Demon Hunter's more melodic moments on recent releases.

I got 33 seconds into this and stopped when it just sounded like a Soilwork clone. Believe it or not, I like other metal besides black metal. I like Soilwork, especially their newest...
But bands lose a lot of points in my book if they're just a cheap knockoff of another more prominent band.

I really like this song!
Its growing on me, its not that heavy but its Demon Hunter
I like the varying degrees of heaviness they have had on the last few releases
I think its catchy and I love the riff used in this song
Cant wait to get my pre-order!

I don't hear Soilwork but admittedly I haven't listened to them since Natural Born Chaos. Maybe they changed a lot.
That melodic riff though? Never thought DH would come snatch a page from Anberlin and work it in.

I think newer Soilwork borrowed from DH.

Considering Speed Strid guested on The World is a Thorn and Soilwork being around since 98, they have to be an influence. A Predator's Portrait was a big album in the Gothenburg scene (I listened to a ton of it back then) and Natural Born Chaos a breakthrough and a massive bone of contention when it came out. You can hear the Swedish influence on DH's older material. It was responsible for half the metalcore sound and scene back then. If they still influenced Demon Hunter I wouldn't be surprised. It's probably like hearing Pantera-isms in DH songs, it's expected in some measure.
I just said what I did because, not being familiar with their newer material, I hadn't recognized the influence in this track. Thomas is probably right being a fan of what they do still. I just noticed the Anberlin riff with the synth. That I know is very similar!

I was being funny, the whole scene has morphed so much there's tons of similarity in the bands. Except Dark Tranquillity, they have stayed very consistent.

I figured.
Dark Tranquillity is the most consistent of them all indeed. It was interesting to watch them through the late 90s' early 2000's when they and the whole scene started to turn only to return with Damage Done and then never stop. Always my favorite in that scene though In Flames got me in. It was so weird to see them and Sentenced as meager openers on an In Flames headlining tour years later (maybe 05'?). Killswitch Engage was the direct support. They had 30 minute sets while the crowd was still arriving with Killswitch getting 45 minutes. I wasn't even an In Flames fan by then and didn't even stay for them.
DT was and is an example.

I was in a record store the other day and hearing a band I though had hints of In Flames but was mostly meh and it turned out it was In Flames newest. Kind of sad really.
