Demon Hunter
I haven't seen this mentioned...and I accidentally posted it in the wrong place previously....
What do people here think of War and Peace? Personally, I think they would have made a great single album, but as separate releases, both suffer a bit. War is the stronger of the two, and is pretty good, with Peace being just so-so other than a couple of tracks. There are about 7 songs too many between the two, in my opinion.
That being said, I have to give it to the guys for having the courage to do a double album.

There is a thread about this somewhere. I actually like Peace better, feels like they stretched a little bit and it works.

Re: Demon Hunter
I had a thread about a month ago but not many interacted with it. My thoughts through those first three-four weeks are there.
At this point I'd say there are around 19 solid songs between the 2 albums. I've spent the last few weeks listening to Peace more than I have War. Nearly every song has been in consistent rotation at some point. I can 100% see these being relatively disappointing as two full albums for most people. I'm surprised I enjoy them both as much as I do. No complaints from me.
I will say that subtleties have impressed me most on Peace. Ryan's vocals, Yogi's drumming have captured me more because of the tone of the album. War just rages and it all grabs me. With Peace it's little things all over that interest and grab my attention.

My thoughts are on the other thread as well.......
Simply put they should have taken taken the 6 best from each album and just combined them to make a single album

Making one album would've helped but they took a chance so good for them.

There are one or two songs that don't real jive with me but overall I really like them both with Peace just edging out War. Not much new stuff seems to excite me these days but DH always seems to deliver.

Re: Demon Hunter
I agree, it took courage to put out 2 albums together, but I like the irony of ‘War’ and ‘Peace’ in concept...I’m loving all the rage I expect from DH in War but I love all the (dare I say)mellowness and subtleness of Peace.
Overall, I’m glad to have more DH music and I’m leaning towards Peace as my favorite between the two... or just that I seem to want to listen to it more. But that could change tomorrow! Ha!

The last Demon Hunter album I really enjoyed was True Defiance. Truth be told, I haven't even listened to anything from them since Extremist.

I really like both albums, even though there definitely seem to be some "filler" songs on both.
I liked Nyves, though, so I guess I'm just all in for Ryan's singing.
