Good christian euro power metal?
So guys, I wanted to call upon your expertise in the field of christian power metal. Now, of course I am familiar with some bands, but it's always fun to keep expanding a bit (and supporting a new, unsigned band occasionally).
Here are some demands that I have:
-melodic
-fast
-clean singing
-good vocals
-symphonic elements
-if possible, proggy elements
-if possible, folky elements
-christian message not too hidden
Just so you know, I'll give a list with bands that I like and more or less fit those perimeters (also mentioning a few that don't really, but just so you know that I'm familiar with them already):
7Days
Audiovision
Divinefire (first album)
Diviner
Empire 21
Enzo and the Glory Ensemble
Essence of Sorrow
Fires of Babylon
Gloriam Dei
Golden Resurrection
Harmony
Innersiege
Innerwish
Leah
Majestic Vanguard
Mehida
Narnia
Reinxeed
Rob Rock
Sacred Warrior
Signum Regis
Sinbreed (first album)
Stryper
Michael Sweet
Theocracy
W.A.S.P.
Warlord
Wingdom
Within Silence
Worldview

Wake of Redemption
Metatrone
Stauros
Slain
Seven Angels
Perpetual Legacy
Northern Flame
After Omega
Millenial Reign
Kreyson
Dragon's Cry
Dynasty
Above Symmetry
I followed your suggestions more than your demands. Some are more proggy than power. Some symphonic, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions so far Haven't checked the bands out, except for Metatrone (annoying growls), Millennial Reign (awful vocalist) and Kreyson (just didn't work for me).
Night time now, but I'll tell you guys about my experiences tomorrow

Hi Andreas check Lightmare, Creed and Saint Attack ourt.
Hallo Andreas, du solltest Lightmare aus Frankfurt und Creed
(irgendwo bei Stuttgart/ Karlsruhe) und Saint Attack (Karlsruhe) aus den 80ern frühen 90ern anchecken.
a
ansonsten kann ich Recon (USA) wärmstens empfehlen

Little update in between: some of the suggested bands I know (and own a CD of, in one case), namely Recon (kinda forgot about them) and Germán Pascual (love his CD).
I listened to a few bands already, and seriously... some good stuff among them! I will give feedback to each and every band, even if it may be just one word

Oh, and I think I put Balance of Power aside, because it wasn't that openly christian and it offered nothing really special aside from that. Might try again though
I also remember trying Hallowed, I think the production put me off... will try again.

Re: Good christian euro power metal?
Balance of Power is HIGHLY recommended ... not for Christian message, but for the quality of the music.
Definitely pick up the following albums:
> The Book of Secrets (definitely some biblical imagery on this one)
> Ten More Tales of Grand Illusion
> Perfect Balance
Those albums are almost always near the top of my rotation. Although you won't find overt Christian lyrics, what is there is morally positive.

Yeah, try BOP again
Hallowed only put out one 5 song EP. It's not a great quality, but still enjoyable I think. They did record more songs, but never put them out, which is a shame.

Good call on Seventh Avenue. I was listening to them earlier today. Agree that they are near the top of Christian Euro Power Metal ... imo.

Re: Good christian euro power metal?
I own four Seventh Avenue albums. A bit frustrating; they're playing in a style I really love, but because of the length of their albums I tend to find them boring.
Anyway, only need to check Balance of Power...

Re: Good christian euro power metal?
So, verdict is in! Thanks for your suggestions. Some bands are really good, others need more time for making an impression at all or for me to get used to certain things, some just weren't my cup of tea. Anyway here it is
David, your suggestions only contained Spanish lyrics. Not too much of a problem, I have done a short Spanish course so it's not that "out there". But still, it might have been a different story if those bands had English lyrics (just saying).
-Sacrom sounded nice, but a bit too cute
-Boanerges: I love it! Doesn't matter that they sing Spanish
-Steel Power's production was a bit too poor
-Arjé made a good impression, will need more listens though.
metaldude had a long list, but I finished it!
-Wake of Redemption: don't know yet... will listen more.
-Stauros: Portugese drags this down a bit... it's a big step for me to take.
-Slain: love it!
-Seven Angels: very good music, vocals need some getting used to.
-Perpetual Legacy: LOVE the music, I'm not too big on female vox like these though.
-Northern Flame: I love this! Good vocals too
-After Omega: excellent music, spoilt by the vocalist who permanently sings out of key.
-Dragon's Cry: promising band name singer sounds too squeaky though.
-Dynasty: fairly good... a bit standard, but that's OK
-Above Symmetry: very good first impression, I need more listens because prog
Stabrite
-Sacrecy: very nice! Want to have their album now
cailen
-Lightmare: sounds very good! Classic German power metal is nice!
-Creed: first thing I thought when hearing that song: wow! Classic Helloween/Gamma Ray-ish
-Treasure Seeker: a project isn't it? Sounds good, nice springboard to other bands
jusma
-Hallowed: sounds too demo-ish. Would have been nice if they didn't break up...
-Balance of Power: very good, need to look better at the lyrics though
-Lance King: this I might like; sounds alot like Pyramaze
-Oratorio: promising! Needs more listens though.

Re: Good christian euro power metal?
Tornado is OK... better production and vocal effort wouldn't hurt though.
I know, listen to a lot of power metal bands and you'll see that the vocalist can make or break a band.
