my songs [updated 4/30]

just would like to know what you all think:

these are a couple of tracks I recorded in Aug. No bass atm.

I have a couple more that I recorded in Aug but I have to rewrite/rerecord the vocals for them... as well as a few more that I'm in the process of writing/recording.

just "finished" another one.. though you must first pardon the fact that my timing is a little off on the stop/start.. and the lack of a guitar solo... I have, thus far, been unsuccessful at writing one for this song... if someone wants to give me some ideas or somethin.. more than welcome. And yes, I left the coke can opening for no reason.. maybe I should put it as the intro.. hmm...

here's one of the other songs I did back in August. All I did was take the old vocal track off and put a new one of me reading Isaiah 53.

another song I wrote years ago that I pulled out of the shelf and put to some drum loops. Don't think I'm gonna add vocals but I certainly would like to add some instrumentation (including violin) to the clean guitar parts...

didn't pay attention to that.. I just stuck a second break in between the drum loops and went to town lol ....

when I do a better version of the song I might change it a little. It's really a challenge to do songs with drum loops... would be so much easier if I had someone playin' to write with.. but at least the drum loops force me to stay in time as I have to work at that.

Yeah, that'd be awesome. I have quite a few riffs from just jamming out and letting God give me inspiration. I use a lot of power cords and the riffs are sweet and heavy/brutal.

i am not is one of the songs I wrote years ago... I'm now revisiting the guitar-only demos of them I made years ago and putting them together with some drum loops, etc... and doing some vocals...

Oh, ok. Honestly, I don't care for spoken vocals, but in your songs they work I think that if we work together, we can just make instrumental songs and then someone can do vocals later. Since danielbandfan is interested in playing bass, he could be a bassist in the project.

some songs work better than others at spoken vocals... I've always liked heavy songs with spoken vocals.. some of them anyway.. like the spoken vocals on Believer's Dimensia ..

if I would have done it with time signature in mind it might actually have been a lot easier with the stop/start then it was lol

just as a side note: I used Audacity to record all of these and I have them saved as audacity project files.. which means I can add/remove/adjust any particular instrument/part of the file. If anyone has comments/suggestions on ways to improve the sound of the files or anything please let me know as I'm not all that knowledgeable.

I got nothing to record with so I guess I'll have to try and give tabs and then we'll do trial and error with you attempting to do them...? :\

I don't have anything myself.. just got an adapter (upgraded to a plug recently) and just plug my guitar into the "line in" (or mic spot will work to but lower quality) on the back of my computer. Audacity (or similar program) is freeware.

I use GarageBand.

then my Audacity files wouldn't do ya any good... you need wav files? what formats can you export files to?
