Who is your favorite Angelica vocalist
Re: Angelica - Favorite vocalist
That song "that's why God made the moon" was on John Elefante's album "windows from heaven" from 1995. That's awesome to hear this version.I'm alldatndensum wrote:bjorn again, I did a little Googling of my own and discovered that the song in the video was written by John & Dino Elefante. I thought it had their style on it. I wonder if John is doing a new album and this might be one of the tracks......

Re: Angelica - Favorite vocalist
I don't think he has released an album. It is probably just a song he sang to promote his work.
What impresses me mostly is that the most relevant thing he has done in music industry was singing on a single Angelica album.
By the way, finally Rob Rock is leading this poll. No offense, all the singers are great (but Andy Lyon), but the only singer who can compete with Rob Rock is Ken Tamplin, undoubtedly.
Regarding Andy Lyon, I could see why Ken Tamplin (s/t album producer) pushed him so hard that made him give up of singing for Angelica as soon as I heard the demos with him on vocals.

Are any of the Andy Lyon demos online. I'm curious.
As far as Jerome goes, yeah I think that's just a promo for his work. There are two YouTube listings for that video. The one that I posted, and another one which if you read the comments section there is a comment saying that the person who posted it is Jerome's wife.
He's still got a good voice IMO. He doesn't have quite the same range as John Elefante on that track, but that's probably an unfair comparison. Wonder if he could be hooked back into doing some Christian metal.

i have the Angelica demos with Andy Lyon. PM me and i'll send them to you. I remastered them too.
I remember asking Dennis about Andy and he said that when Ken Tamplin wanted to go with another singer, Andy went home and he never saw or talk to him again.

Actually, looking around my hard drive I do have the demo (you must have sent it to me during a previous Angelica discussion. )
Listening to a bit of it now. Rob Rock is a definite improvement.

I shall warn you that you shouldn't have great expectations about Andy Lyon. I listen to it once or twice and realized that didn't wprth to keep it in my computer.
There are also demos of the s/t album with Ken Tamplin what is much more cool.

Listening to more of the Andy Lyon. He just doesn't have the range, or if I hear correctly the ability to hold notes for very long. Maybe he needs Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy... oh wait, he had that already.

Baca was a good replacement for Mazza, I enjoy his vocals too.
I like Rob Rock, but I personally don't think he was the right vocalist for Angelica's sound. Just my two cents...
Totally agree on Mazza, I was terribly disappointed that he wasn't on the next album Is there any info out there about him? He was really good.
Rob Rock is a fine vocalist, but I also agree he didn't fit as well.
Then Dennis much later on had Cynical Limit, which was obviously very different from Angelica.
Walking In Faith is one of my very favorite Metal albums, ever.

I listened to both Walking in Faith and Rock Stock and Barrel in a row. And yes, I noticed the difference between Mazza and Bacca. Mazza work was slightly better.
Consider that the quality of the band has decreased a bit in each album, the s/t is not only their best, but also one of the best hard rock albums I have ever heard. There are many remarkable songs in it such as "Are you Satisfied", "Danger Zone", "Will I ever learn" and "Take me".

I'd say that's a fair assessment.

Re: Angelica - Favorite vocalist
I felt that the debut wasn't quite a fit for Rob's vocals on some of the songs where the songs were previously written for Andy. I think I like the. vocals on the last 3 the same with the one on Walkin a tad more.

I agree with most that although I love Rob Rock, Mazza's voice was silky smooth and perfect...especially on the masterpiece "Walkin' in Faith". That song gives me goosebumps every time.
