Favorite lyricists in Christian metal/rock?
Partially inspired by Starfire's topic (https://thecmr.forumotion.com/t7516-why-don-t-more-christian-metal-bands-write-songs-like-this), post your favorite lyricist(s) in Christian metal/rock, or rather bands that have your favorite lyrics.
Some that come to my mind include:
Andrew Schwab (Project 86)
Aaron Weiss (mewithoutYou)
A Hill to Die Upon
(Everything starting with A was not deliberate.)

Re: Favorite lyricists in Christian metal/rock?
I'm not a Christian, but I think that whoever writes the lyrics for The Burial (at least the most recent album) and Micah Kinard from Oh, Sleeper are really good.
Also Jason Wisdom definitely lived up to his name (on Dichotomy at least)

I also really like the lyrics of several songs by The OC Supertones - don't know if Matt Morginsky wrote all of them.

Re: Favorite lyricists in Christian metal/rock?
My favortite is undoubtedly Bob Hartman. We must take into consideration that Petra used to release their discs once a year, and since Greg X. Volz left the band, hartman was the only band's songwriter.
But I also love these song writers:
Ted Kikpatrick
Michael Bloodgood (along with Les Carlsen and the guys in Bloodgood. Their rhymes are great and sounds like poesy to me)
Glen Kaiser
Jimmy Brown II
Sacred Warrior (I guess Bruce Swift is their main songwriter)

Re: Favorite lyricists in Christian metal/rock?
Matt Smith is my favorite, without a doubt.
Other favorites:
Markus Sigfridsson (Harmony) - Chapter II: Aftermath has some great lyrics.
Mehida - Not sure who wrote the lyrics for Blood and Water, but they were quite good.
Children 18:3 - all their albums have great lyrics.
Becoming the Archetype - Primarily for Celestial Completion.

Steve Taylor does have incredible lyrics, but I still can't get into his music. If we're judging purely lyrics though, this judge is holding up a hard 10/10 for Taylor.

Re: Favorite lyricists in Christian metal/rock?
(I'm just going to assume that the lead vocalist writes most/all of the lyrics in the average band...)
I'll definitely second Micah Kinard for Oh, Sleeper.
Also:
Josh Scogin (Norma Jean)
Mike Hranica (The Devil Wears Prada)
Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter)
Jake Luhrs (August Burns Red)
Thor Georg Buer (Grave Declaration)
Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf)
Karl Walfridsson (Pantokrator)

Verbum Lux, I think keyboardist, Mikko Härkin wrote all of Mehida's material.
