Lengsel - The Kiss, The Hope

This is alt-metal at it's finest.

I'm honestly not sure what path they took to get from Solace to here, but it must have been an interesting one! There is a strong Nine Inch Nails vibe going on and I like it. For personal reasons, I don't keep any NiN active in my collection but I do enjoy the sound, so this is a nice alternative for me. Also, there is a strong Mortal vibe going on here (the non-industrial Mortal), which is nice because Mortal is one of my favorite bands..

I'm glad you like it!  It is a strange album indeed.  I love The Pale People especially.

I should probably listen to this album again sometime as I kinda skimmed through it back when it came out them put it on the shelf

Same here.  I only listened once, liked it but don't really remember it -- and haven't gone back for another listen for whatever reason.

This album (and just Lengel in general) is amazing. It's nice to see some intelligent and unique Christian music...

Ha ha I was just going to post that I never heard of this CD featuring the Extol guys but we just got a few copies in the distro that were part of this collections we just bought!

Ok, Bill I know you didn't write that description, but it cracked me up!

First I'm reading and I'm like "coherent?"  Like "it makes sense and you understand it 'coherent?'"  And then "rough, confusing, intimate."  I don't even know what "intimate" means in terms of music, but if it adds to the "confusing" somehow that's perfect!

Glad some of you guys like it, I suppose.  I'm not particularly "artsy" or whatever and this one just wasn't for me.

I am quite artsy. When I'm not in a metal mood, I can be seen listening to Starflyer 59 (my all time favorite band from all genres combined), Mike Adams At His Honest Weight, New Terrors, Pacifico, Seryn, Shapes Stars Make, Abel and a host of other odds and ends.
