Wasatch Forge: Awesome Iron Works
I recently ordered a custom bottle opener for a good friend of mine from Wasatch Forge and am absolutely blown away! Michael (the owner) is super friendly, easy to work with, AND loves Jesus. Definitely check out his work! Here's my friend's opener:
Here are some of Michael's other projects:

Pretty cool, I've wanted to get into blacksmithing-metalworking-type-stuff as a hobby for a while... not that I'd expect to produce anything as good as that stuff haha

Me too! So cool. When I finally get a place of my own, I might just have to get some of these handles...

You should do it! I'm not sure all that it takes to get going, but I think it's pretty doable.
My friend's opener arrived yesterday. I can't wait to give it to him! It looks great. Here's a picture I took of it this morning.

I actually tried this once and actually got my fire hot enough to start wielding railroad ties into a shape I wanted.
Here was my set up. I had an outdoor grill made of brick.
2. I got my fire going hot until I had nice glowing coals.
3. I then inserted a 4 foot long steel fence post I found that was hollow.
4. I went to the thrift store and bought an old hair dryer for a dollar and stuck it in the end of the fence post and boy did that get the fire hot hot hot!
5. I then wore some elbow length welding gloves, grabbed my tongs, my hammer and a railroad tie and got to work.

That's really neat. I want to make something nice to melt down aluminum cans in andAdam wrote:undead toaster wrote:Pretty cool, I've wanted to get into blacksmithing-metalworking-type-stuff as a hobby for a while... not that I'd expect to produce anything as good as that stuff haha
