A martyr for what?
I've been reading a bit about Raif Badawi. He's a Saudi Arabian man who has been sentenced to 10 year in prison, a fine, and, 1000 lashes for publicly expressing thoughts mostly relating to the ideas of the separation of church and state in Saudi Arabia.
His punishment of lashings is to be meted out at 50 a week for 20 weeks every Friday after the call to prayer. It's reported that today's lashed have been delayed as his health is failing after last week's lashings. It seems probably that he will die from his treatment before he finishes his 10 year sentence.
Here's more information about him.

Here are some of the things that he published that got him into this trouble.

Isn't Saudi Arabia the birth place of Islam? Isn't it were Islam is practiced correctly? Is this the system that the terrorists are fighting so hard for to hoist upon the rest of the free world?

Re: A martyr for what?
That sounds brutal. I think Islam is the opposite of Christianity, in that true believers are violent, and the extremist are peaceful.

One of the ideas of Jihad ( depends on koranic interpretation ) is to forcibly put the world under surah law. The idea is that once the " world " sees how much better society functions under Islamic law, that people will then, give their heart to Islam and Allah. The goal is conversion. But conversion to what ?

That's part of my point. If there is any place in the world where surah law is done right it must be in Arabia. Look at the misery it produces. I'm not talking about the misery cause by war, jihad terrorism, such, but the misery of living under the religious state.sentient 6 wrote:One of the ideas of Jihad ( depends on koranic interpretation ) is to forcibly put the world under surah law. Conversion to conformity to living for their imaginary god. They believe that once the whole world is under islam then a new order of things will be ushered in. It's a mad doctrine; and the sooner we understand this the better we'll be able to organize to repeal it. We know that won't happen. The goal is conversion. But conversion to what ?
