Andraé Crouch, home with the Lord
Our brother Andraé went home yesterday and he will be sorely missed. I grew up listening to his music, either by him directly with his group The Disciples or by other artists singing tunes he wrote like The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, My Tribute, and Soon And Very Soon..

Sad... Music has lost a legend today. I love his music.

I'm not fond of Gospel music, but he seemed like a great.
Sad in one sense for those who enjoyed his music, but happy in another sense.
It's a glorious thing for a Christian to die. We can all be glad for him and rejoice.
I've outlived all of my family and have little reason for joy...

Same here brother, for the most part. I've lost all grandparents, both parents, uncles and aunts and three of my children. Seems like someone is dying every time I turn around.

My joylessness in that regards is on account that I don't believe that any (except my father) knew the Lord.Adam wrote:d@v!d wrote:I've outlived all of my family and have little reason for joy...

During this life, this can be a hard thing to think about, and I can really relate with my own family.
ya know, whenever I hear about or attend a funeral for a non-believer it always a sad and depressing affair for me. Hopeless. But whenever I am at a funeral of a Believer I am always filled with joyful thoughts about their current state of being. Just thinking about that person being face to face with Lord is an awesome thing.

Yes, I feel largely the same way.sentient 6 wrote:During this life, this can be a hard thing to think about, and I can really relate with my own family.

We had 3 church members pass away last week. I was fairly acquainted with one. I'm not so sad thinking of where they are. My concerns are more for their immediate family.
The hardest time I had was at my sister's memorial. Her ex-b's mom talking new age crap about seeing her walking through a golden field. I'm sure you all can imagine how I was thinking and feeling.
