Re-discovering artists
My post in the AC/DC thread inspired me to ask... have you re-discovered any artists lately? I've bought some stuff I had years ago and most of it sounds better than it did then. They include:
Michael Knott/LSU/Lifesavers/Aunt Bettys/etc...
Five Iron Frenzy
Brave Saint Saturn
AC/DC
The Clash

Great question!
That happened to me with Iron Maiden some years ago.

Metal Church! I haven't listened to them in over 2 years and I decided to see what they had been up to. I didn't know they were broken up 2 years ago even though they disbanded in 2009, lol. They got back together 2 years ago and dropped a new album in 2013. The album is pretty sick

Kingdom come..they have put out a string of really good albums over the year and I recently rediscovered them and have started picking up those albums..
A few other artist for me would be Danger Danger, Deep Purple, Steelheart, 80s Aerosmith and Barren Cross...

Galactic Cowboys. I ignored them during the 90's but about a year ago I gave them another chance. They're now one of my favorite bands.

The last bands that were like that for me were Skid Row and Warrant. Given my typical tastes, I'm surprisingly drawn to both of those bands first two albums. Strong material on 'em

I never really cared for them either but I saw them open for Ozzy on the No More Tours Tour (when Layne was in a wheelchair!) and I ended up liking their stuff. I also like the song Check My Brain. Sounds like the older stuff to me.

Re: Re-discovering artists
Today I am rediscovering Gryp. I remember these guys from the late 90s, early 00's although nu-metal wasnt really my thing. However this morning I got an email from the vocalist that they are releasing a new album in a few months, along with a new song that I shall be playing on my next show. So I felt it appropriate that I reacquaint myself with their music
