Artists you've seen live, but in different bands
Here's an interesting quiz. How many artists have you seen live, but as they were in different bands, or solo. This is one that requires some thought, and might get some odd answers, but let's give it a shot.
John Schlitt - Seen with Petra and on a solo tour
Wayne Everett - Seen with Starflyer 59 and with The Prayer Chain
Jerome Fontamillas - Seen with Fold Zandura and with Switchfoot
Toby Mac - Seen with DC Talk and on a solo tour
Kevin Max - Seen with DC Talk and with Audio Adrenaline
David Bazan - Seen with Pedro the Lion and on a solo tour
Five Iron Frenzy -I saw them as FIF and as their previous band Exhumator (which had 3-4 of the same members, Keith Hoerig, Reese Roper, and Micah Ortega)
Michael Roe - Seen with The 77s, in a solo show, and on stage for a full set with The Choir

I saw Robert Sweet with both Stryper and Blissed.
I have seen John Schlitt do a solo gig in a coffee house singing with prerecorded tracks.
I have seen Michael Tait perform with DC Talk once and a few times (maybe 3) with Newboys.

Re: Artists you've seen live, but in different bands
Interesting..
John Schlitt - solo & Petra
Christian Liljegren - Narnia, Wisdom Call & Golden Resurrection (and one song with Whitecross)
Tommy Johansson - Reinxeed & Golden Resurrection
Andreas Olsson - Narnia & Rob Rock
Can I list Bob Hartman in Petra & Classic Petra..? They are almost two different bands..
I'm not sure about Andreas Johansson, drummer of Narnia. If he played with Rob Rock, then I have seen him at least in Narnia & RR. But wikipedia says Anders Johansson (Hammerfall, Yngwie) toured with RR, so I'm not sure.. actually he did also play with Wisdom Call, so I have seen him at least with Narnia & Wisdom Call.

Daniel Gailey in Becoming The Archetype and Phinehas. I also met him in Paula Dean's restuarant in Savannah, GA which I reminded him of when I saw him in Phinehas. He remembered because I said hi to him and he got recognized in such an odd place. Still one of the weirder moments of my life.

Dave Lombardo in Suicidal Tendencies before he became a full-time member. Wait, does it still count if he left Slayer already?

Re: Artists you've seen live, but in different bands
Great topic and cool answers above. Here are the ones that come to mind for me:
Michael Sweet with Stryper several times and solo in 1994 or 1995.
Mark Salomon and Jeff Bellew with both The Crucified and Stavesacre
Jerome and Jyro with Mortal then Fold Zandura
Johnny Vasquez - drummer with Vengeance Rising(1992) and Mortification(1993)
Howard Jones - saw with Killswitch Engage and with Devil You Know
Ozzy Osbourne with his band and Black Sabbath (same show at Ozzfest)
Zak Wylde with Ozzy and Black Label Society (same Ozzfest)
James Macdonough - bassist, saw with Iced Earth and then Megadeth
Dez Fafara - With Coal Chamber and then Devil Driver
Saw Philip Anselmo of Pantera with Superjoint Ritual
Off topic but similar concepts -
I got to see The Crucified band back XL (of XL and DBD) as well as XL playing guitar with Greg Minier performing Applehead songs at a Mortal/Crucified show back in 1993. That blew my mind.
George Ochoa with Vengeance Rising in 1992 (The show was original supposed to be Deliverance, but they had to cancel. The rumor was that George Ochoa burned his hand and couldn't play. Vengeance took over the tour, and when we got to the show Ochoa was their guitarist. Weird.) I saw Deliverance in 2001 but without George Ochoa
I saw Killswitch Engage with Jesse in their early days then Howard a few years later.
Saw Iced Earth with Matt Barlow and then with Tim Ripper Owens a few years later. Then saw Judas Priest, who Tim Ripper Owens used to be singer for
Saw In Flames (a few times) and Dark Tranquility. The strange thing here is that Anders Friden of In Flames did the vocals on Dark Tranquility's first album. Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity did the vocals on In Flames' first album. Mind blown yet?
