EVH D-Tuna alternatives?
I don’t know if this exists, but are there any alternatives to the EVH D-Tuna that work on floating Floyd’s? I don’t want to give up the floating part of my JEM, but I really want to be able to go to drop d easily.

Use a Hipshot Tremsetter along with those for floating trems (it's not a trem block; you can use the bar as per usual albeit with a little stiffer feel).

What is the tremsetter exactly? Does it stabilize the bridge when wanted, and can let it function as a normal floating bridge when wanted?sirhemlock wrote:https://www.tonevise.com/Pitch-Shifters/Christian Thrash Rules wrote: on floating Floyd’s? I don’t want to give up the floating part of my JEM

Re: EVH D-Tuna alternatives?
You attach it in place of the middle spring. It is screwed into the body instead of attaching to the claw. It has a screw to fine tune the tension you need, which if you are using a D-Tuna or alt you will need to be on the stiffer side.

Re: EVH D-Tuna alternatives?
Oh ok. So it keeps it in a specific position, but still allows you to pull the trem up and down, just a little stiffer. Then I could put a D-Tuna alternative (it sticks out to much for most floating bridge guitars), and it’ll work fine, and I can still use the floating trem. I’m I understanding correctly?sirhemlock wrote:You attach it in place of the middle spring. It is screwed into the body instead of attaching to the claw. Yea, that's for normal floating function (not for trem fixing/blocking; for that you would use something like a TremolNo, but if you wanted that why even have a JEM haha).

As to D-Tuna sticking out too much on some guitars, some guys just grind them down a bit.

Awesome! I’m going to look into that. Thanks for the suggestions! I found an alternative with good reviews and is much smaller. It only sticks out slightly more than the normal screw thing.

Yeah. It twists instead of pulling out so it takes up much less space.sirhemlock wrote:Sounds good!Christian Thrash Rules wrote:I think it was called ToneVise?
