Favorite band not in your favorite genre

My favorite genre is thrash. My favorite non-thrash band is Theocracy.

Not much of a fan of death or black metal, but I like Mortification and Antestor. Both are hybrids though, have little to no interest in bands like Horde, Frost Like Ashes or Sympathy...

I don't even know if I have a favorite genre anymore.

I'm into so many different styles and rock/metal sub-genres, which is great for me. If I feel I'm getting "burned out" (it's always temporary) on a certain genre, I'll just focus on another for a while. Sometimes it's a little of everything at once.

The only styles I don't listen to as often anymore are death and black metal, but I still give certain songs a spin every so often.

Who knows though - I'll probably end up wandering back into the "forest of extreme metal" at some point.

I'd say my favorite genre is thrash, because most of my top 20 is made up of albums from thrash bands.  But I'm bored by most thrash outside of those few bands and albums, and I love many genres almost as much, so I could easily think of favorite bands in many genres.

But way outside that, let's say Sackcloth N Ashes by Sixteen Horsepower.  Gothic alt.country.

Same, if by that you mean favorite subgenre of metal. My favorite genre period is probably progressive rock.
