The issues around leaving our life in Germany behind and starting afresh in the Netherlands keep piling up, but it seems like we're solving them at a faster rate now. A few weeks ago we discoverd woodworm in the basement and today a guy came and sprayed the ceiling with insecticide. Got to notice that the floor isn't isolated at all, we had to keep the house open because of the fumes.

But all in all things are definitely looking up.

Dang dude, that sounds like no fun! I hope there's minimal damage and that the spraying takes care of the issue completely. Nonetheless, I'm glad to hear things are improving and getting taken care of. How's your family been adjusting?

It's going great on that front actually. Our kids get along very well with their peers, the oldest two have to go to school but fortunately it's a Christian school (Christian or not, schools are state-funded in the Netherlands). My wife is still getting over the whole thing of practically not having a home but also for her living in our own country is way easier. People in eastern Germany tend to be somewhat antisocial, here in the Netherlands people are way more open and positive, also towards our kids and dog. Also great to have family around, most of the time Razz

I know it's the greatest economy ever but my work is downsizing. I don't love my job but I'm getting too old to keep starting over. (Sigh)

Ah shoot. Are you for sure getting laid off? That's gotta be incredibly stressful. My work initiated mandatory every-other-Friday off in attempt to avoid lay-offs, but we'll see how effective that is. Best economy ever indeed... Evil or Very Mad
