Christian bands that sound like Slayer?

What are some Christian bands that not only have the aggression, but also that suspensful tense hellish atmosphere?

Living Sacrifice’s debut is a dead-on Slayer clone. 

Hating Evil and Ritual Servant have Slayer sounds.

A band called Reborn from Brazil put out an album in 2003 called "Renewed For Revenge" which is a pretty good Slayer / Sepultura thrash outing.

Also well worth checking out would be Arnion and Disaffection.

Living Sacrifice's first album is the closest

Okay, thanks! I love what I've heard of Slayer's sound, but I'm not too comfortable with the lyrics/imagery.

No band does Slayer like Slayer. Living Sacrifice debut is as close as it gets in the Christian realm. Though I will say, It's not exactly Slayer sounding, a good ear can pick the difference. I think the overall tone of the instruments and the vocals are quite different, but it's definitely the closet thing to I have heard to Slayer that is Christian.

Slayer's best years are from Show no Mercy to seasons then they have some good songs on each album post seasons.

Yeah, the atmosphere isn't quite there, but I'll take it.

Quite right. But nevertheless, it's still a good thrash album.

Freakings for me comes the closest

I hear Slayer all over this. War Ensemble comes to mind with the drum tone to a degree and the vocal style in a way just screams Araya influences. Or am I just losing my mind here lol 

Freakings has some similarities, and I do like them, but the songwriting is nowhere near as memorable as prime Slayer.

Yeah I get that lol I am a new fan of there's to a degree and was pleasantly surprised by some of it. I'm with you I wouldn't say top quality though but they are good on the speed

The first Heaven's Force demo came out the same year as Show No Mercy and borrowed heavily, especially in the vocal style:

Heavenly Kingdom seems pretty heavily influenced by them to.

There are some Slayer-ish moments on the s/t Crucified album.

The Slayer musical influence is one of the main reasons I love the debut albums from Living Sacrifice and the Crucified.

That's good thrash. The singer is something between Gary Lenaire and Tom Araya. The Music almost sounds closer to early Sep with the Gary/Tom vocal...well at least to the holes at each side of my head. Though I can hear some Slayer going on in there at times, Angel of Death comes to mind, I can hear it.

yeah very show no mercy vocals with Metallica music. Seek and destroy riffs shining bright.

Fact is if you play thrash there's gonna be slayer and Metallica in it.

The Cru also the only Christian band ever to overtly diss Slayer (the boys from South of Heaven), among others.
