Favorite band, album, and song
Not your favorite song from your favorite band's best album. All my picks are from different bands.
Band: Deliverance. I might have some bias due to them being the band that got me into metal, but I also pick by averaging out all a band's songs, and Deliverance has the best collection of songs from any bands I've heard imo. Their "low point", Camelot in Smithereens, would still be one of the best Stryper albums, the best Whitecross album, etc. and has one of my all-time favorite songs, Somber Theme. Then my #2 and #3 albums, Assimilation and Weapons of our Warfare, are both from them. They have 16 songs in my top 50 of all time. I will give credit to Skillet for having the best top 15 of any band IMO, but they are extremely inconsistent and so are currently ranked #7.
Album: This Might Sting a Little by Disciple. While Mirror of Souls by Theocracy, Learn by Deliverance, Comatose, Collide, and Rise by Skillet, Innocence & Instinct by Red, and Psychosurgery by Tourniquet all have higher highs, none of them are this consistent. Nu-metal is a very underrated genre. Disciple has 6 songs in my top 50, and this album accounts for 5 of them.
Song: Broken Chromosomes by Tourniquet. This song has grown on me a lot, maybe because it's mainly a build-up to the final act. The first thrashy section is still great, good riffs, crazy vocals, good lyrics. Then a slow atmospheric part. But that ending part. Very emotional, the song tells a great story, Comatose and What I Believe by Skillet are imo more consistently great songs, but the story and emotion of BC puts at my current #1.

To follow your example of different bands for each:
Band - Adorned Graves. While some Theocracy songs are better than AG's best, I find myself listening to this band more than any individual other
Album - Feste Burg by Epta Astera. Something truly unique, that I have never heard anything like elsewhere. To the point the guy behind the project basically invented his own genre. Also some of the most truly beautiful music I've heard
Song - Mirror of Souls by Theocracy. An absolute masterpiece, I have never heard anything else on this level elsewhere

I agree on Mirror of Souls. It's currently my #12 song.seth wrote:To follow your example of different bands for each:

Re: Favorite band, album, and song
Ummmmmmmmmmm...... Band and album are easy. Song is really hard.
Band: Metallica
You may think "he's just getting into metal it's the only band he knows" but that is very not true. I've been into metal for a few years now, I have a 24 hour playlist that's just Christian thrash (which shouldn't surprise anyone lol). I've heard 100's of bands and yet Metallica are still number one.
Album: ...And Justice For All
Easy. It's amazing. To Live Is To Die is their best instrumental imo.
Song. Changes
It depends on my mood. Sometimes I feel like Worst Case Scenario by C!NCC!. Sometimes I feel like Inamorata by Metallica. Sometimes I feel like Won't Stand Down by Muse etc. etc.
