How’s this for a can of worms: Continuing from the other thread, since most of us know the entertainment industry is quite morally bankrupt, what should the average person do in response to this knowledge? Boycott everything related to hollywood/big entertainment industry as a whole? Only avoid objectionable material? Only consume digital entertainment from independent sources that don’t fund/produce objectionable material? Or something else?

I haven't been to a movie since 2014.

Haven't bought a video game since 2019.

Checked out of Marvel/DC in 2011. 

Star Wars does not exist beyond 1983.

The things that are being promoted by the entertainment industry (as well as the "news" media and even "education") are idiotic and insane. Every day they one-up themselves with new levels of idiotic wokery, the meaningless platitude-riddled world of virtue-signalling, which "victim" is dominating the oppression olympics, as well as the ever-changing landscape of things you're not allowed to do, say or think.

For me, the key is in the past. There still exists (for now) decades of material from various sources. Tons of movies/music/comics/games/whatever to enjoy.

A "parallel economy/culture" is being built as we speak, but will take some time to ween people off of the increasingly rotten culture that it will replace.

I don’t plan to go Amish and forsake everything, but I do need to try to be more proactive in my choices.
