IRONWRATH - New Album 2023

Ironwrath had a song called "The Stranger" on Underground Metal 2 (1989).
The song was from their 1989 demo (4 songs).

Aside from that, they reformed a few times over the years but had no new recordings until now.

They just released the album "Master Storyteller."

Musically they are all over the map - there's some modern metal with industrial flourishes, some Southern rock, a little bit of classic metal.  It's hard to pin them down but you can check the songs out on Spotify, Apple, or You Tube and see what you think.

There's definitely some Christian content in the lyrics, as well as social issues.

I like this a lot! and now I own it.

I'm surprised there's not more discussion on this one since they are technically a band from the golden age of Christian metal.

I listened and it was pretty good. I'm not big on modern metal so won't be one I really get into.

I find enough of a classic sound mixed in with the modern to keep me engaged.

It may be that technically that many of us had not heard of them before.

I have heard of them before. I have been waiting so long for this. I still have their only other release, a demo from 1989. Much different sound now.

Yeah....The IronWrath 1989 Demo called "Circle Of Iron " I Got That One Too Good Stuff...I Also Got There CStone 1989 Live Battle Of The Bands Performance (MASTERTAPE) They play The Entire " Circle Of Iron Demo In It's Entirety...KILLER STUFF ! ....NO DOUBT!....................

Theocracy could easily overtake them, of course.

I finally got around to getting the downloads from Amazon.  I will give it a spin sometime this week.

Cool, Thank you again my brother.  We are a different band compared to Theoracy.  We been around for a looongtime and have many influences.. The thing that makes us stand apart from them is we are more a visual Cinematic Metal band.. When we start touring, our show will be an experience using visual graphics and it tells a story from start to finish.. A mixture of Pink Floyd and Tool and a few others visually.....    One day we will be playing with Theocracy and that would be something to see on a double bill.

WOW, Very cool!  We was going to re-release the "Circle of Iron" but the studio we recorded it did a hack job on the tapes and its only good for nostalgic reasons..   Hopefully on the next few albums and if its a big demand, maybe we can re-record it..  I would love to hear the CStone LIVE show.. That is only a memory and a fan reached out and sent us photos which we never knew it existed!  That was some great memories...

Thank you for sharing and thank you for listening to the new music.. We actually brought back alot of the music on the new album and produced it.. We know it's a little different from COI and we was in a different place at that time.  35 years of professional experience and myself as a guitarist, I been in so many different styles of bands after IronWrath, we agreed to make IronWrath modernized so it makes sense for us to play the 'BIG" shows and have a story behind the music visually....

Yeap, we do have a more modern sound now 100% and thats just because of experience over the years.. but, we still love our roots...

One thing for sure, We did play the "Stranger" at a rehearsal and with our modern sound, it sounds AMAZING!  So hopefully one day, we will cover that tune.  and for a little trivia, "The Stranger" was the first song we wrote as IronWrath so, it's the oldest tune and "LONGEST" lol....

Very True!!!!!!  We was the black sheep at that time when we played CStone and put alot of money in playing shows instead of studio and videos and people only know of us from "The Stranger"  We tried to keep going throughout the 90's and wrote some amazing music which made it to the current MST album.... We have 3 more albums worth of material we want to get out in the next 3 years as we tour and reach film score goals as we are now labled "The Masters of Cinematic Metal"

When you see the show, it will tie it all together..

Thank you for sharing our music!!!  This is Sean Silas the guitarist of IronWrath..  I came across this forum and wanted to say "Thank You"  

We been waiting a long time to release "Master Storyteller" for over 25+ years and we finally got the oppurtunity to do so after 3/4 of the members have been busy with life.  I been playing in many different types of bands as a guitarist, and as the drummer/percussionst C.G Ryche has a succesful solo project and we always have hoped IronWrath would finish what we started.  It took us 7 years total to get this version of IronWrath going but, its actually been 2 years because of singer set backs and just life in general.. The good news is we are moving forward and we will be playing LIVE in 2024.

On the music, we knew it would be a little bit of a shock to the vets of Christian Metal that knows of us and it was something that we figured it would make sense on a long term for the band for us to "Modernize" or sound.  Me as a guitarist, I am a 80's guitarist like my hero's Lynch/Sykes/Rhoads/Ed Van Halen/ and many from that era. But in the last 25 years I had to adapt to modern metal like, Dream Theatre/STP/AIC/WhiteZombie/Korn and on and on.. So, when you hear the new IronWrath, the guitars have that new/modern/nostalgic/element so when we brought back some of the songs, you are fimiliar with that sound.   Along with unique drums and vocals with that movie soundtrack vibe.. 

In the late 80's to mid 90's, we wanted that sound and that is why when you listen to "Circle Of Iron" it tells a story and as a whole "Master StoryTeller is basically "Circle of Iron 2.0"....When you listen to the concept beginning of COI, the guy running meets "The Master Storyteller (Christ).

So now with our experience from the film/special effects and the love for movie soundtrack and metal, thats how it all morphed into MST 2023. I also wanted to add we did 2 covers on MST.  Johnny Cash "God's Gonna Cut you Down"  and the video game hit "Legends Never Die" which is part of MST story.

I tried to share this in the smallest reponse possible.. When you see the LIVE show, you will see the concept....... But, Thank you again and I will be sure to let the guys know I came across this forum!  Thank you Thank you!!

Curious, is the new lead singer Anton?

I’m really digging some of the songs, and I’m not normally a fan of of industrial style metal

The album has a lot of variety on it, which I appreciate.
