However, I still like Extraction and Sanity more, they are just more accessible, may I use the word catchy? Dimensions is more demanding and you have to spend time with it, undoubtedly a great album but it feels somehow unfinished/incoherent with six songs of a similar style and then the monolithic trilogy which is a thing of it‘s own. Maybe the should have put out the Trilogy as an EP and written two or three mor „regular“ songs for to go with the other six for the third album. Just rambling, thx for reading.Dustofyears wrote:Oooo, Dimensions... forgot about that... Pathogenic of course is great... Can I pick two- Dimensions and Destruction comes...Pethead wrote:As good as POD is, I'm surprised there are no votes for Dimensions yet. I'd put that in second place, personally.

Yeah I figured you had a few drinks. Luckily you weren’t one of the combative types (at least not towards me). Haha

That's good. I think most of it was incoherent jibberish, but I could type DELETED just fine, lol.TZ75 wrote:Dustofyears wrote:Ah didn't know that. Thank you. Went on a drunk online rampage. Stb sounds like a cat on helium half the time.seth wrote:Very unpopular opinion apparently, but I’m actually not too big a fan of POD, with the exception of a couple of songs. Way better than the two albums to follow, but the transition from more melodic vocals of the previous albums (especially StB) to mostly shouting/barking was a move in the wrong direction imo

Even though I love it, I agree that it's overrated. I prefer MVoaTR and ABseth wrote:Very unpopular opinion apparently, but I’m actually not too big a fan of POD, with the exception of a couple of songs. Nah, the falsetto on that album is great. I normally wouldn't like stuff like that, but I think it sounds really good. Actually, reading this made me decide to put on Ready or Not lolBlack Rider wrote:Stb sounds like a cat on helium half the time.seth wrote:Very unpopular opinion apparently, but I’m actually not too big a fan of POD, with the exception of a couple of songs. Re: Favorite third thrash album?
I wonder why they went cold turkey on the falsetto vocals? It would have been an even better album had they just mixed it in some like Sacred Warrior's "The Flood." Ted must've just bent the knee to the current trends where old-school metal just wasn't cool anymore. I know he laid out some rules on POD like they were to avoid thrash cliche's like 'cut time' (think of the Master of Puppets chorus).StevenCressler wrote:Nah, the falsetto on that album is great. Re: Favorite third thrash album?
I don’t think it had to do with trend-hopping. It’s not as if PS and POD are just aping what was currently popular. It’s also interesting to note that Guy doesn’t use any falsetto on Polarized.
