Reformed Rock Bands
P.S., I'm not looking to start any theological debates or say non-Reformed people aren't saved or anything. Please don't fight!

Oops, I guess I should have done a search before posting. My bad. Thank you!
And, what do you know? The friend I was talking about happens to be on this forum and in that thread. Small world.

Even though we do technically have another thread of the same subject, I'm quite content in letting that one drift into nothingness and have a fresh start here since that one was such a dumpster fire.
Some that come to mind:
Becoming The Archetype
Epta Astera
Theocracy

Though after reading this from Seth of BTA, I don't think I'd include them on this list:
Seth (BTA) wrote:What keeps me in the faith is a complex mixture of things. My hope in a God is not, however, based on the idea of governance. Imo, God can be good or all-powerful. Not both (for lots of logistical reasons). I believe in a good God, so there would be no governing of extremes and everything in between, but instead a Kenosis, an emptying of oneself of power/agency/glory to instead live in solidarity with the weak/poor/powerless/outcast.

I only thought of Jason in a reformed regard but even there I never got those impressions from the albums, just people. For me it is just solid Bible based concepts.Kerrick wrote:I should add Jonova.

That’s problematic. I’m not a classical Calvinist, but I have serious problems with the way he frames those statements.Kerrick wrote:I should add Jonova.

Re: Reformed Rock Bands
I am a Calvinist, and I take issue with it too. Seth's statement is heretical and makes it clear that he does not believe in God. If God is not all-powerful, God is not God. He wouldn't be able to create the world and everything in it. He wouldn't be able to declare what is good and what is evil, and carry out his vengeance against evil. Anyone who believes the Bible disagrees with Seth. I guess BtA is a secular band then, and my AotY 2022 is now Blood Moon Rising.Pethead wrote:That’s problematic. So true. If it’s not outright apostasy, it’s at least heterodoxy. Sometimes it makes me want to just switch to secular music exclusively.Black Rider wrote:Most likely. My statement was mostly hyperbole but so many seem to wander off.

Interestingly, Seth is a Lutheran pastor. How interesting and sad that people sit under such teaching.Constantine wrote:Egads, this is like gobbledygook from the Church of Woke.Seth (BTA) wrote:What keeps me in the faith is a complex mixture of things.
