VERY impressed with this. Most atmospheric black metal (especially with songs this long) just plods along, but this album is engaging, well-paced, and has real riffs, and good ones too! Definitely the best 2023 album I've heard so far.

I could agree with that. I don't personally enjoy all the music, but that's personal preference. The songs and albums are great, though. It wasn't until after that the quality began to be hit and miss, and songs would be released that sounded like demos, lyrics all over the place. Music videos with dancers...

Great album. Shoutout to Son of Nun for mentioning it a while back.CrimsonWarrior wrote:Fathomage - Autumn's Dawn, Winter's Darkness

Are they not Christian anymore? Not that I listened to them very much, but they were pretty Christian back in the day.Pethead wrote:Five Iron Frenzy: Engine of a Million Plots

Most of them are, but a couple members are atheists/agnostics now. Also, the singer (Reese), while a professing Christian, embraces LGBTQ+ as acceptable. There’s definitely a lot of Christianity in many of the lyrics, but for these reasons I put them here.Sevenoneself wrote:Are they not Christian anymore? Not sure about the Christian friendly category as DT is straight up secular prog rock/metal

I'd like to formally request an administrator (ahem, Ker...) to set some more stringent guidelines for this thread. Pethead is getting way too comfortable pushing the limits.

“Bands with Christian members, but the lyrics don't necessarily express their faith. Or maybe they overtly express a Christian worldview in the lyrics, but not sure on the faith of the band members. Or the band takes the "Christians in a band" stance. Or some of the band members profess faith, but distance themselves from the Christian music industry.”
