^Wow I thought I was the only one familiar with them but clearly you are too.  Of course, that was before they went old-school post-synth-polka grind-pop.  I can appreciate genre-shifts but that was just too much for me.

No. I've actually had the first two Holy Soldier albums on repeat the last couple of weeks getting to know them a bit. This is only the first BtA album I've listened to since Terminate Damnation a week or so ago. So I've got a few more to go yet.

I'm not really a fan of technical thrash in the vein of Extol and Believer. I want to like it, b/c I love progressive elements in music and I love technically proficiency; but there's not enough melody and emotion in most of technical thrash. However, I'm really enjoying BtA so far as there are enough interesting elements and surprises and melodicism to keep my attention. I haven't gotten to the albums where they sing yet, so I'm looking forward to that. 

Don't get me wrong, there's portions of Extol & Believer I love as well, but overall I haven't been able to get into them very much. "Jesus Kom Til Jorden For Å Dø" is one of my favourite songs.

I think BTA is typically considered progressive/melodic death metal/metalcore rather than thrash.

Are you doing the same thing with the genre description there as yesterday?

I don't listen to any kind of extreme metal near as much as I used to, but Extol is still a favorite. An exceptional band.

Technical thrash is my favorite genre of all, and I don't like those bands either.
