R.I.P. Rick Foley (ex Bride bass player)
Dale Thompson posted this on facebook today:
"It is with great sorrow and loss that Bride announces the passing of our dear friend Rick Foley who stalked our stages as our bassist for many years. He was a giant of a man physically and as a friend. Rick and the band toured the world together and with no doubt it was the most powerful Bride lineup to date. In many ways Rick made the band with his insight, talent, comic relief and true rock star presence. I have always said Rick did not become a rock star. He was born a rock star. I spoke to Jerry yesterday before Rick's passing and we both agreed that our dream was to get the four of us back together one day and give it one more go. That was a dream. I am sure God will allow us at least one show together when we all get there one day with Rick before His throne. Rick you are loved and missed."

Re: R.I.P. Rick Foley (ex Bride bass player)
I got to see Bride in Nashville with Rick on bass and again with Steve Kurtsinger. While both are more than adequate players, Rick brought energy to the stage that made Bride feel like one of the bigger, more well-known secular acts of the time. When Steve came on board, the whole show seemed much more laid back.

Is Dale still into some weird theology? I saw Bride once in 1995 and he full on preached at the end of the show... I was a loud mouth, offensive pentecostal back then so I have no room to talk....

All respect for your opinion bro, but I think that isn't the right post to ask this and (maybe) start a fight...

What do you mean "my opinion?" I didn't give one. I gave a question and a brief statement about what it was like to see Bride live in 1995. not an opinion.
I also gave a self critical remark about my views at the time.
So, does Dale still have heterodox or heretical views and if so what are they?
I'm interested.

just create your own thread about this.
This post is not the place to ask this, is just a memorial, an information about the passing of a great player and member from a iconic band from the christian scene...
Be respectful

The reason I got in to Bride was because of Snakes. Rick (or is it Rik) was an important part of the band during that time. He will be missed

Who cares?
I was only making a post to pay respect to a musician that isn't with us more...
Is so hard to a moron like you to follow the central idea of this post?

Come on guys. This is supposed to be to the memory of a great bass player. Let's forget about our differences and remember his contribution to christian rock.
Please.

Cool.
Actually, does anyone know if he was in any other bands, or was it just Bride?

Oy... easy guys!
Lex, be respectful. Calling another member a "moron" is against the rules no matter what. This is your warning.
Jaydee, feel free to start another thread as Lex suggested, but please leave this thread for discussion of Rik. (You could also just post in this thread which is a bit of a free-for-all, if you don't want to start a separate thread.)

Yes, I think he would have been on those too. And probably End Of The Age (Everybody Knows My Name and Same Old Sinner)

Here is what Discogs has listed about all the albums he played on.
There is also a list in AllMusic but it is not as detailed:
