This is a different one than Batushka (no "y").  Batushka is especially un-Christian and the one you're thinking of with all the lineup drama.  Batyushka claims to be made up of monks or priests or something but it all just sounds kinda suspicious to me...

I honestly know very little. Their music is instrumental so there are no lyrics to examine. They seem pretty kvlt (lol) based on this quote from their Bandcamp: "This is the page of a true Orthodox Russian metal band Batyushka. We are not related to satanic Polish posers with a similar name "Batushka" who are engaged in blasphemy. In contrast, our name БАТЮШКА is correctly translated into the Latin alphabet (Batyushka). This name has existed since 2005 when the first demos of our music were recorded. I think you would dig it if you don't mind the tongue-in-cheek nature of their existence. If it is a joke, it's a worthwhile joke because they have managed to put out a lot of high-quality atmospheric black metal (there are several albums).

I know some people don't like the ska part, but to me, it's one the highlights of the album.  A really fun, unexpected part on an otherwise serious album.  I actually wish more metal bands did stuff like this.

Gotcha.  It's the ["We are not some bunch of larping posers, but true christians comparing to some fake larpers who can't even spell the name correctly."] part that seems a bit... off to me but made me chuckle nonetheless haha.  I'll have to look more into them because as you said, they've made some good music and at least are claiming to be legit.

This album has (very unexpectedly) blown me away. Highly recommend for fans of furious black metal.
