In Time By Demon Hunter

Latest blog post, looking at the the Demon Hunter song In Time from their album Extremist.

Love this song. Musically it is stellar but the lyrics are absolutely prophetic! "In time we will embrace it all." Our society is breaking down every foundational element of morality. The pace is stunning. That's exactly what the song was about, per Ryan's commentary and it's proving more true every year.

I was also late to Demon Hunter but they are now a top 10 band for me, maybe top 5. I started with True Defiance. Honestly, going backwards has reminded me of why I passed them over. They have done their best work recently. Albums like The World Is A Thorn and The Triptych, while heavily lauded by long time fans, are lesser albums for my taste. The last 5 albums are better than anything early on. I still need Summer of Darkness and the self-titled but as I went back the albums are less complex, the band less talented and the music more derivative of its age. Of course this is my view but I was pleasantly and thoroughly surprised by what I did hear when I came around to the band and now buy everything as a pre-order deluxe edition.

I love what I have heard by the band.  In time, I will buy the earlier albums.  I am hopefully that one day I will be able to see the band live.
