They were both good. Been on a psychological horror kick lately.Kerrick wrote:Ready Or Not was a lot of fun! The ending was great. What'd you think of the other two? I thought both looked pretty decent.

I’d give it a go if you like 80s action movies.

Just finished Blue Beetle. It’s on par with all the other recent DC movies…unfortunately

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Even apart from all the woke crap in modern marvel movies, the main problem I’ve always had with them is they take themselves way too seriously. Imo superhero movies should be fun, kid-oriented stuff like The Incredibles. Adult-oriented superhero movies that try to be serious are just cringe. Especially when they try to explain the superhero stuff with laughably fake science

Yeah I don't really get the whole superhero thing either. I did like the Spiderverse movies though. The visuals were incredible. The propaganda was really the only complaint I had about the second one.seth wrote:Even apart from all the woke crap in modern marvel movies, the main problem I’ve always had with them is they take themselves way too seriously. Re: Recently Watched Movies
I just watched Left Behind: The Rise Of The Antichrist.
I've never seen a "Left Behind" movie before this one, but this one is free on Prime and I went for it.
It moves kind of slow but it's worth watching if you follow world events and recognize from Scripture the signs of things about to take place. Directed by Kevin Sorbo (who's also in the movie along with his wife and son).

I feel just the opposite. There are tons of jokes and banter between characters in the Thor, Avengers, and Iron Man movies to the point where it is out of character, especially for Thor, who doesn't have an ounce of irony or sarcasm in this body, but, in the movies, he's full of it. I read a lot of Thor and Avengers in high school and they took themselves pretty seriously, so did Iron Man. Yeah, I suppose outside of these titles the movies lack humor, but the comics weren't nearly this jokey (other than Spiderman who always quips and wisecracks whilst dueling a villain).

Re: Recently Watched Movies
From the few marvel movies I’ve seen, they try to crack jokes like you say, but they aren’t ever really funny. What I mean by take themselves too seriously isn’t a lack of humor, but the fact that they seem to pose themselves as sci-fi thriller style movies, when imo superheroes belong more in the realm of kids comics and movies. Prime example is one I saw recently, Ant Man and the wasp, and Avengers Endgame as well. They way they tried to scientifically explain everything by tacking the word “quantum” to all the nonsensical ideas was pretty cringe. Would have been less cringeworthy if they just said the reason he could shrink was because of magic or something lol.

That is something that carries over from the comics. Your average issue of Fantastic Four usually had almost as much technobabble as an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Watched The Creator. Not the greatest movie in the world but thoroughly enjoyable and fun to watch if you are into sci-fi. Maybe a bit predictable at times but as Barenaked Ladies once said, 'It's all been done before'.

THE CREATOR
Epic Sci Fi, about AI being falsely blamed and near human robots trying to survive human revenge. But in the end it is a love story. Kinda weird but you have to see it to understand and appreciate.
