So it took a year for 1 song?

It sounds pretty good, but dang, at this rate it might be 10-12 years for a LP

I wish them the best, but they’ve lost me with this change in direction. I always loved their melody and hooks, and Rey’s voice. Now his voice sounds distorted and unnatural. The song has little melody but jumps all over the place in tempo. Count me out.

From what I was told, this will be the last SW song with Rey. He is no longer with them.

Hmmm... So he left, Eli came in and Rey came back and Eli was gone and now Rey is gone again?? Eli did fine, I had no problem with him but the vocals were buried in the mix. Pretty much the only song I could hear Eli was the title track but the rest he's way in the back.

It's a good track but almost a year for one song is a little much.

It sounded more like a Bride song to me than Sacred Warrior.  However, I am still happy they are making new music.  I am always happy when my favorite bands from the past are still making music.

It's alright, but barely sounds like Sacred Warrior to me.  Not horrible at all just not what I would have expected.  Will be interesting to hear what the rest of the music sounds like, especially if Rey won't be singing.

Don't have a problem with this switch at all.  It's actually very Sabbath-y.  Funny, there's nothing modern about modern metal; it's been modernizing the past 15-20 years...

I'd be down for a whole album of this.  At least the drums sound good and not overly processed like every other metal release the past 8 years.  I expect nothing less from a master like Velazquez.

At least the mix is better. Poor Eli could barely be heard! Ruined that record for me.

I was thrilled when Sacred Warrior got back together, but am very unhappy with their change in musical direction so far.   The "Waiting In Darkness" album had the stunning title track but the rest was tedious and dull.  Very turgid riffs and song-writing.  I can't fault them for wanting to move forward and not repeat the past, but the style they are taking on has been done better by plenty of other bands already.   However, at least "Blood River" is a step up from the majority of "Waiting For Darkness" so we'll see what the rest sounds like eventually.

WOW, I'm really diggin this!  Yea, a different direction but fresh!  Crank it UP!

I hope something comes of this demo from their facebook page last year...this is vintage SW at their best!

Even with his previous band, the vocals were that way.  Eli claimed that they ended up getting buried in the mixdown/master, but it was always that way.  i think he liked them behind the music a tad.  I don't know why as he was a great singer.

I like the new sound from this.  Hopefully, there will be more soon from them.  I am curious to see what the rest of the album will sound like.

Do they even have a singer now?
